At the undergraduate level, Assam Women's University provides three-year BA and BPT programs. The university offers an eight-specialization MA degree at the postgraduate level, along with MCA, MBA, MTTM, MLIS, and M.Sc. courses in fashion design and technology.

Candidates must meet the minimal requirements for admission to the MA program, which is graduation in any discipline with at least 45% of the possible points. Likewise, admission to an M.Sc. program is available to individuals who have earned a B.Sc. in a relevant field with a minimum of 50% of the possible points. To enroll in an MBA program, candidates must have completed their bachelor's degree in any specialization with at least 50% of the required credits. Entrance to MTTM and MLIS programs is granted to graduates with a minimum of 45% of the possible points. Those who have completed an MCA program with at least a 50% grade in their BCA, B.Sc. in CS, IT, or electronics, PGDCA, or graduation in mathematics or statistics are eligible to apply.

All program admissions are determined by a written exam administered by the university. The M.Sc. admission process is based on the candidates' performance on the most recent qualifying exam. In addition to written exams, the university administers GD/PI for the Mass Communication MBA and MA programs.
