The first designX university in India is Anant National University, or AnantU. The Laxman Gyanpith Trust founded AnantU in 2016 as a private university, and the Council of Architecture has given it its approval. Courses in architecture and design are available at the undergraduate, graduate, and PhD levels at Anant National University.

• As an alternative, candidates must pass a 10+3 diploma with mathematics as a necessary subject.
• It is necessary for applicants to the B.Arch program to pass the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) with a valid score.
• It is necessary for applicants to the B.Des program to take the AnantU Design Entrance Exam (DET).
• Candidates that meet all the prerequisites are invited for an in-person interview.
