NSU, which is located in Imphal, the capital of Manipur, was founded in March 2018 by the Indian government's Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. NSU offers programs that promote education through competition, recreation, and physical activity in addition to classroom learning, producing elite athletes, sports scientists, and skilled physical educators.
The University provides a variety of undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate degrees in physical education, sports sciences, and sports coaching.
The institute provides a BPES with 26 specializations and a B.Sc. in Sports Coaching with 8 specializations at the UG level. In order to qualify for the same, candidates need to have a 10+2 degree. NSU provides a two-year M.A. in sports psychology and an M.Sc. in sports coaching at the graduate level. NSU Imphal Undergraduate Course Requirements

• The applicant needs to be a Higher Secondary (10+2) graduate.
• The candidate must be older than 17 to be eligible.
• The candidate must have competed in any game or sport at the interschool or district competition on behalf of his or her school or district.

NSU Imphal Undergraduate Course Selection criteria

1. Admission will be granted solely on the basis of merit, determined by the scores received on the written test, sports proficiency test, and physical fitness test.
2. Obtaining passing scores on the Physical Fitness Test is a requirement.
3. The candidate needs to get the approval of any government medical officer and be in good health and free from physical defects.
4. A minimum of 45% must be obtained by the candidate on the admission exam.

PG Admission at NSU

The institute provides a postgraduate M.Sc. in Sports Coaching with five specializations, including

M.Sc. in Sports Coaching: Graduate with a 50% grade point average and a diploma in sports coaching or a B.P.Ed. lasting four years or two years. furthermore taking part in college, district, and state level sports.

M.A. Sports Psychology requires a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% in psychology, either in B.P.Ed. or B.A. (Hons.) or any other bachelor's degree with psychology or sports psychology as one of the topics. furthermore taking part in college, district, and state level sports.
