Himachal Pradesh National Law University Admissions 2024-25

The Himachal Pradesh Act of 2016 created the Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), which is situated in the Shimla district of Ghandal. The university is now a member of the consortium for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). The University Grants Commission (UGC) has granted approval to the university, and the CLAT Cutoff list has placed it fifth among NLUs. Currently, the institution offers doctorate, postgraduate, and undergraduate programs to students.

The university provides practical, application-based, multidisciplinary legal education while taking into account the needs of each student's complete development. The team, led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nishtha Jaswal in both academic and administrative capacities, is dedicated to raising the bar in legal education.

HPNLU Shimla Admissions

University of HPNLU offers various courses BA LLB, BBA LLB, LLM and PhD program. 

  • Admissions in these courses LLB (UG) and LLM (PG) programs is conducted by the CLAT cut-off. Following selection, candidates must attend for a round of document verification.
  • There are 60 seats available for the shortlisted applicants in each undergraduate program. Applicants must have graduated from a recognized education board in their 10+2 year with at least 50% of their total points.
  • For the candidates who make the short list, the university offers 20 postgraduate seats in LLM. Candidates must hold an LL.B. degree with a minimum of 55% overall.
  • Students can use the HPNLU website to fill out an application.
  • To get admission into the PhD program, candidates must pass an entrance exam. It is not necessary for applicants who have passed the UGC NET or JRF to show up for the admission exam.

  • The students at Himachal Pradesh National Law University have access to facilities like hostels, a library, and a cafeteria. These amenities are necessary for them to have a simple and comfortable time on campus. The university's administration makes every effort to ensure that there are no issues for students on the HPNLU campus, and in the event that there are, they work quickly to resolve the issue.
  • The Himachal Pradesh National Law University has distinct hostels according to the needs of males and females. Students can choose between AC and non-AC rooms at HPNLU. Light, Wi-Fi, a water cooler, common areas, CCTV cameras, newspapers and magazines, and other facilities are provided by hostels. No one is allowed to leave the campus without the warden's approval.
  • Library: Students registered at HPNLU have access to a library on campus. Students can find a wide variety of books, journals, research, and other materials in the library.   • Cafeteria: HPNLU features a cafeteria with a number of food outlets. In the cafeteria, students can buy food products and hang out with their friends for some time.
  • Sports: The university seeks to provide excellent sports facilities, and to that end, space has been set aside for the development of courts and the current construction of a state-of-the-art gymnasium on the university campus. The gym and other sports facilities offered by the Himachal Pradesh Judicial Academy, Ghandal are now available to students.
  • Medical/Hospital: About two kilometers separate the University and the Civil Hospital, Dhami. It's a multispecialty hospital with excellent equipment. Residents at the university may always count on the hospital to provide ambulance services for any emergency.
  • IT Infrastructure: Students at the university have access to excellent IT infrastructure resources.
    Transportation: One Innova car and one Toyota Etios are also provided by the university. There has been a bus available to transport students to and from court appearances, clinics, and legal aid programs. The HRTC bus service provides a reasonable connection to the university.
  • Banks and ATMs: UCO Bank, located roughly two kilometers away, meets the needs of both workers and students. With UCO Bank, students can open bank accounts.
  • Classrooms: The university offers its students well-furnished classrooms that are accessible on campus.
