Established in 2016, Bihar Animal Sciences University (BASU) is a state university with its main office located in Patna. It was removed from the Bihar Agricultural University because the Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Dairy Technology and the Bihar Veterinary College, two of its member colleges in Patna, were moved to the BASU.
