Sikkim University is currently based in Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. A new, permanent campus is being built at Yangang, which is about 56 kilometers from Gangtok in South Sikkim. The closest airport is Bagdogra, and the nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri.

Sikkim University admits students through a counseling process.
How to Apply:
Candidates must apply online if they meet the minimum qualifications.
The application fee is Rs. 600 for General/OBC/EWS categories and Rs. 300 for ST/SC/PWD categories, and must be paid online.
Applications received online within the specified date are reviewed by a Working Committee for Admission (WCA) based on eligibility criteria.
A merit list for Certificate and UG programs is made based on marks obtained in qualifying exams.
A program and department-wise merit list of selected candidates, according to central government reservation policy, is then posted on the university website.
Selected students must pay fees and follow university instructions.

SSU Gangtok Scholarships
Sikkim University offers Merit-cum-Means scholarships to students in various programs.
Eligibility: Indian citizenship, family income under Rs. 60,000 per year, and no other scholarships or financial assistance from other sources.
Students must submit an application with a parent's income certificate to the Dean of Students' Welfare (DSW).
Applications are reviewed by a committee led by the DSW and submitted to the Vice-Chancellor for approval.

Central Library: Sikkim University Library is modern and fully automated, offering web-enabled services to reach users wherever they are. The library's website and mobile app provide access to over 50,000 books and journals in both print and digital formats. The university also provides access to major e-journal sites for students at no cost.
Hostels: The university provides five hostels for girls and four for boys. These hostels are rented facilities with modest infrastructure and basic amenities. Due to high demand, not all students may be accommodated.
Transportation: To help students with transportation, the university offers a free, uninterrupted bus service for daily commutes.
Gymnasium: The university has a well-equipped gymnasium with proper trainers available for students and staff. The gym charges a nominal fee of Rs. 150 for students and Rs. 300 for staff.
