Karnataka Samskrit University is a state university focused on Sanskrit studies. It was set up by the Karnataka government in 2010. D.Litt.: Vidyavachaspati. Duration is 1 year. Eligibility: Any Ph.D. degree in Sanskrit from a recognized university.
Ph.D.: Vidyavaridhi. Duration is up to 6 years. Eligibility: PG in Sanskrit with 55% from a recognized university.
M.Phil.: Vishishtacharya. Duration is 1 year. Eligibility: PG in Sanskrit with 55%.
PG Diploma: Specializations include Shastra, Manuscriptology, Sanskrit Computational Linguistics. Duration is 1 year. Eligibility: BA or equivalent from a recognized university.

Karnataka Samskrit University Admissions:
Candidates should use the prescribed form available on the university website to apply for admission. The completed application should be sent to 'The Registrar, Karnataka Samskrit University, Pampa Mahakavi Road, Chamarajpet, Bangalore – 560018'. The application and entrance exam fee is INR 500 for General category and INR 250 for SC/ST, payable to ‘Finance Officer, Karnataka Samskrit University, Bangalore’.
Admission is based on an entrance test and an interview, following the state government's merit-cum-reservation policy. A limited number of students will be admitted to each program.
