Achievements and Rewards 

TDU's parent organization, FRLHT, was awarded the prestigious Norman Borlaug Award for its efforts in conserving medicinal plants. The United Nations also honored FRLHT with the Equator Initiative Prize for its work connecting conservation with livelihood needs. From 2002 to 2010, FRLHT and TDU were acknowledged as National Centers of Excellence by the Ministry of Environment and Forest, the Department of Science and Technology (DST), and the Ministry of AYUSH. Additionally, FRLHT received an international award for Cultural Leadership in Traditional Medicine.

TDU offers financial aid to high-achieving students from economically weaker backgrounds. The assistance can be in the form of scholarships or fee concessions, and the amount is decided by the university authorities.

  • Knowledge Park: TDU's 'Knowledge Park' features an ethnomedicinal garden with over 1,500 species of medicinal plants from various regions of India. 

  • Infrastructure: The campus building and research hospital span across 1,77,000 sq. ft. and include IT-aided classrooms, a lab, library, administrative offices, cafeteria, indoor sports areas, accommodation for students and faculty, and a research hospital. 

  • Hostel: TDU provides separate hostels for boys and girls with furnished rooms in single and double occupancy types. 

  • Library: The library houses 8,600 books in a variety of subjects. 

  • Hospital: TDU has a 100-bed integrative healthcare hospital inherited from its parent organization, FRLHT, which demonstrates the contemporary relevance of Ayurveda to students and scholars. 

  • Other facilities: Residents can enjoy dining facilities and indoor and outdoor games within the premises. 

TDU also has the country's only Herbarium and Raw Drug repository of medicinal plants used in the Indian System of Medicine. 

TDU Bangalore Faculty 

TDU has 43 full-time faculty members and several part-time faculty across its seven academic centers. Here's an overview:
