The Majuli University of Culture, located in Majuli, is planned to be a state institution focusing on art and culture education. The University plans to expand as a diverse higher education institution focusing on Indian culture and heritage, aiming to become a top-tier university under India's New Education Policy. Its main focus is on studying and researching the rich cultural life of India, particularly in Assam and the North East region. Ultimately, it aims to offer a wide range of disciplines including liberal arts, basic sciences, and more, to cultivate well-rounded citizens equipped to address the complexities of the 21st century.
The University will offer undergraduate and postgraduate programs, along with research opportunities, in humanities, social sciences, folklore, language, literature, music, dance, arts, crafts, design, architecture, archaeology, and traditional health systems, among others.
