GITAM was founded in the year 1980. The Institute of Technology, Institute of Science, Institute of Management, School of International Business, Institute of Pharmacy, School of Architecture, School of Law, Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, School of Nursing, Center for Distance Learning (CDL), and Institute of Gandhian Studies are among the University establishments.

109 UG, graduate, and doctoral programs in technology, pharmacy, science, management, international business, architecture, and law are available at the institution.

The GAT (GITAM Admission Test), a computer-based online exam, is required for admission to GITAM. It is administered in major Indian cities. Admissions are made to the campuses in Visakhapatnam, Bangalore, and Hyderabad based on the ranks attained.

 B.Tech, B.Pharm and B.Arch Admission 2024 at University

Admissions for B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Pharm programs in 2024 are available through Univerity. These programs are offered in the areas of engineering and technology, architecture, and pharmacy. Applicants must complete the 12th test with at least 60% overall (50% in each of the three subjects—mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology—from an accredited Central or State Board or an equivalent.

Admission to the B.Tech, B.Pharm courses are done on the basis of marks obtained in GAT(UGTP). Candidates seeking admission to B.Arch. program should qualify in NATA / or JEE (Main).

Selection Procedure:

To grant admission to B.Tech, B.Pharm, and B.Arch programs offered by Vishakhapatnam, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru campuses, GITAM holds GAT (UGTP). After the GAT is over, the applicants' ranks will be made public within 10 days. For admission to the Bengaluru campus, 25% of the GAT seats will be set aside for exceptionally talented Karnataka state candidates.

Exemption from GAT:

All central and state board toppers will be eligible for direct admission. These applicants are not required to take the GAT in order to be admitted to any program of their choosing. Candidates for courses in engineering and pharmacy must apply to the university on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pattern of GAT (UGTP):

There are three sections of multiple-choice questions in this 2-hour test. For every right response, 2 marks will be awarded, and negitive marking with 1 no of each wrong answere. The GAT (UGTP) will only be offered online.

MBBS, B.Sc Nursing, BCA & B.Com Admission 2024 at University:

MBBS, B.Sc. Nursing, BCA, and B.Com. GITAM provides a range of UG degrees in the fields of business administration, computer science, nursing, medical sciences, and legal studies. All undergraduate studies last 3 years, with the exception of the 5-year and 4-year MBBS and B.Sc. Nursing programs.

Candidates pursuing BBA programs must be eligible to take the UGAT or GAT exam. Candidates must take the GAT in order to be considered for admission to the BCA, B.Sc., and BEM programs. Merit in the Entrance exam determines admission to the LL.B. program. Interested parties must take the CBSE-conducted NEET test in order to be admitted to the MBBS program.

BBA, B.Com., and BA Selection Process:

These programs are provided by Institute of Management (GIM). All of these courses are open to students based on how well they performed in the BEM, B.Sc., and BCA programs' selection process. To provide admission to BEM, B.Sc., and BCA programs, University administers the GAT. Rank in the GAT is used to determine final admission. The sections of the GAT are as follows:

Admission to the Integrated Program for 2024 at University

The departments of Science, Engineering & Technology, and Legal Studies all offer a variety of Integrated courses at the institution. With the exception of the 6-year B.Tech-M.Tech degree, all integrated courses last 5 years.

The candidates are admitted to the Integrated B.Tech-M.Tech program based on their GAT (UGTP) rank.
Merit in the GAT is the basis for admission to the Integrated B.Sc.-M.Sc. program.
Merit in the Entrance exam determines admission to the B.A. LL.B. and B.B.A. LL.B. (hons.) programs.

Admission to M.Tech and M.Pharm in 2024 at University

Univerity provides 2-year M.Tech and M.Pharm degrees at the PG level. There are 16 distinct specializations available for the M.Tech program, and there are 4 different specializations available for the M.Pharm course.

The GAT (PGT) and GAT (PGP) are used for admission to the M.Tech and M.Pharm programs, respectively.

Selection Process:

The University administers the GAT (PGT) and GAT (PGP) tests, which determine a student's final acceptance to the M.Tech and M.Pharm programs. MCQs are included in the 2-hour entrance exams. The test's pattern is shown below:

Admission to MBA and MCA in 2024 at University

Additionally, University provides Master's degree programs with a variety of specializations in the areas of business administration and computer application. The MBA and MCA programs last for 2  and 3 years, respectively.

To get admitted to the MBA program, applicants must score well on the GAT, CAT, XAT, GMAT, MAT, CMAT, NMAT, and TS ICET. Merit on the GAT is the basis for admission to the MCA program.

M.Sc Admission 2024 at University

M.Sc. Admission 2024 University provides a variety of PG courses with several concentrations in the Arts and Sciences. PG courses typically last 2 years, with the exception of the M.Sc. in Microbiology and the PG Diploma, which last 1 year and 5 years, respectively.

Applicants must take the University Admission Test (GAT) in order to be considered for admission to any of the M.Sc. programs offered by the GITAM Institute of Science. The GAT rank is used to determine admission.

Admission to M.Phil and Ph.D. 2024 at University

Aspirants can choose from a variety of doctorate-level courses offered by University. University offers part-time Ph.D. courses to working people who wish to pursue doctoral studies. The Ph.D. programs have a maximum duration of 4 years and 2 years, respectively. The university administers a written exam for admission to Ph.D. programs, which is followed by an interview.

Selection Procedure:

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed after admission is decided based on their entrance exam results. Upon final admission, candidates must present the following documents:

• Degree certificates or provisional certificates as applicable
• Declarative score (qualifying test)
• Migration Certificate
• score card for NET, GATE, ICMR, GPAT, or SLET (if applicable)
• No objection certificate (NOC) and integrated community and medical certificate DOB

The written exam has 60 conventional and multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering research methodology and a specific subject. It lasts two hours. To be eligible for the interview, candidates must receive at least 50% of the possible points on the test. Forty marks are awarded for the interview.

Application for Ph.D. (2024)

On the GITAM website, candidates can apply online for the Ph.D program by paying INR 3,000 through net banking or a credit/debit card.

Exemption from Ph.D. Entrance: Applicants who fall under one of the following categories are exempt from taking the GITAM written exam.

Applicants are excused from taking the admission exam if they have a valid score on the UGC NET, CSIR NET, SLET, GATE, ICMR, or GPAT.

Admission to Distance Education in 2024 at University

Additionally, University offers distance learning at the UG and PG levels. For various courses, the university has varying requirements regarding eligibility. Additionally, the duration of time varies depending on the course.

Applicants are directly admitted to the distance learning courses by University based only on their performance in the pre-qualifying exams.
