With support of several companies, the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai (ICT Mumbai), formerly the University Department of Chemical Technology (UDCT), was founded in 1933. The Indian government's Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) declared it a Deemed-to-be-University.The institute's grade was A++. The university is ranked 24th & 5th in engineering and pharmaceutical sector respectively in the NIRF Ranking 2024.
