Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University UG, PG Admission 2024: Form Last Date,Fees, Eligibility

Hyderabad, Telangana, India's Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open institution (BRAOU), originally called Andhra Pradesh Open University, is a state open institution for higher learning. University is India's first open university, having opened for business in 1982. With more than 1 lakh students enrolled annually, University provides more than 50 UG, PG, PG Diploma, Certificate, and Ph.D. programs in the faculties of Arts, Commerce, Education, Sciences, and Social Sciences. The UGC and the Distance Education Bureau (DEB) both recognise each program.

All UG and PG programs at University, with the exception of the MBA and B.Ed, are admitted on the basis of merit, or the grades obtained on the qualifying exam. Admission to MBA programs is determined by the results of the BRAOUMBA Entrance Test (BRAOUMBAET) or the TS/AP ICET. In order to admit students to the B.Ed program, the university also administers an entrance exam. 2 sessions a year, in January and July, are dedicated to University admissions. Every year, registrations for the July session begin in June while those for the January session typically take place in the months of January through February. 

University application forms are released online on the university’s official website. Interested students must submit the application form on or before the dates declared by the university. The registration fee for admission at University is INR 200 for all UG and PG programs. For the offline mode of admission, students must submit the application form to the nearest BRAOU study center. University operates through a network of 179 Study Centres, including 23 Regional Coordination Centres (RCCs), spread over the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. 

At the UG level, University offers courses in BA, B. Com, B.Sc, and B.Li.Sc. The minimal requirements for admission to UG programs are 12th, whereas the requirements for admission to B.Li.Sc. programs are a bachelor's degree in a comparable field. Admission is granted only on the basis of merit. Candidates must attend the appropriate study centre with a copy of their properly completed application form and the required documentation in order to confirm their seat.

Admissions 2024 for MBA Courses

Through the Department of Business Management, BRAOU provides 2-year MBA General and MBA in Hospital & Health Care Management (HHCM) programs. One of University premier programs is the MBA. All Indian citizens are eligible to apply to the MBA program (including recent graduates and individuals currently employed). Applicants may be admitted if they have earned at least 50% of their bachelor's degree. Candidates who pass the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University's BRAOUMBA Entrance Test (BRAOUMBAET) or those who appeared in the ICET (Integrated Common Entrance Test for MBA & MCA) administered by both the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are admitted to University MBA program. 

Admissions 2024 for B.Ed. and B.Ed ( Special Education )

For a 2-year period, University offers B.Ed. (General) and B.Ed. (SE) in a variety of disciplines. The university's B.Ed. Entrance Exam is the basis for admission to these courses. The requirement for minimum eligibility is a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in the relevant field.

B. There will be 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for 100 marks in the entrance exam for education. For Telugu proficiency and mental ability, there are 25 and 50 marks, respectively, while for English comprehension, there are 25 marks. B.Ed. Test scores for Special Education will be divided into 2 categories: English comprehension (40 points) and mental ability and reasoning (60 marks).

Admissions 2024 for PG Courses

Postgraduate MA, M.Sc., M.Com., and M.Lib.Sc. programs are available at University for 2 years. The prerequisite for enrolment in PG courses is a bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a relevant field. The only criteria used for admission to PG studies will be the grades obtained on the qualifying exam.

Admissions 2024 for PG Diploma 

A one-year PG Diploma program in a number of specialisations is available from BRAOU. Applicants may be admitted if they have earned a bachelor's degree from an accredited university. The only criteria used to make the decision will be the scores obtained on the qualifying exam. For admission to its PG Diploma programs, the university does not administer any entrance exams. 

Admissions 2024 for M.Phil and Ph.D. Programe

Full-time M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs are available at University in a number of subjects. A master's degree in a related field with a minimum of 55% of the required points is the minimal requirement for admission. Admission is granted based on a passing grade on the university's written exam, which is followed by an interview. To advance to the interview round, candidates must receive at least 40% (35% for SC/ST/PH) on the interview exam.
