Dr. Y.S.R Horticultural University
The Andhra Pradesh government founded Dr. YSR Horticultural University in 2007 to offer students high-quality horticultural education and training. It is the 1st horticulture university in south India and the 2nd in the country. Andhra Pradesh, which leads the nation in the production of mangoes, oil palm, chiles, turmeric, sweet oranges, and papayas and ranks second in terms of total fruit production, is deserving of a horticultural university in order to boost horticulture's productivity, sustainability, and commercialisation.
2 YSR-affiliated institutes, Horticulture College & Research Institute in Venkataramannagudem and Horticulture College & Research Institute in Anantharajupet, provide B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. programs. In addition to these 2 establishments, the College of Horticulture offers M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs. Under M.Sc. programs, a number of specialisations are available, including plantation, medicinal, and aromatic crops; fruit and vegetable science; floriculture and landscape architecture; and spices.

Admissions 2024 for B.Sc/Diploma Programe
The candidate must have passed the Intermediate Examination in the 12th format, which was administered by the Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermediate Education, or any other test that the University or the Board of Intermediate Education recognises as being comparable, covering any of the following subjects:
1. Physical Sciences
2. Natural or Biological Science
3. Dr. YSR Horticulture University requires a minimum grade of 5.0 in the tenth grade from a reputable board in order to award diplomas.
Admissions for M.Sc Course
One must have acquired a bachelor's degree from a reputable university and finished their 12th from an accredited board in order to apply for an M. Sc. at University.
Admissions for Ph.D. Programe
The applicant ought to have finished their postgraduate studies at an accredited university. Admissions will be determined by the following standards:
1. The M.Sc. (Hort.) academic record is 30%
2. The B.Sc. (Hort.) academic record is 10%
3. 50% of the entrance exam was completed.
4. 10% for interviews
