There is a state institution called Dr. YSR Horticultural institution In Tadepalligudem, Andhra Pradesh. It was founded in 2007 with the mission of providing qualified applicants with horticultural education and training. At its affiliated institutes, University offers UG, graduate, and doctorate courses in the field of horticulture.

2 YSR-affiliated institutes, Horticulture College & Research Institute in Venkataramannagudem and Horticulture College & Research Institute in Anantharajupet, provide B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. programs. In addition to these 2 establishments, the College of Horticulture offers M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs. Under M.Sc. programs, a number of specialisations are available, including plantation, medicinal, and aromatic crops; fruit and vegetable science; floriculture and landscape architecture; and spices. 


Admissions 2023 for B.Sc

A full-time B.Sc. (Horticulture) program is available at University through its connected colleges and university department.Candidates with a diploma or a 12th pass may apply for admission.

The AP EAMCET, AIEEA (for 15% of the seats), and HORTICET (for 15% of the seats reserved for diploma holders) will be used to select the candidates. While there are no minimum requirements for reserve categories, candidates seeking admission through the AP EAMCET must receive at least 25% of the possible marks in the exam.

YSRHU HORTICET Pattern: There are 200 multiple-choice questions in the 2-hour HORTICET exam. Telugu will be the medium of instruction for the test.

Important points

  • To register for the AP EAMCET online or using a debit or credit card, candidates must pay INR 350.
  • Based on their scores in the AP EAMCET, the university and its affiliated colleges fill 300 and 240 General Category seats, respectively. Only at the university, payment seats (13 total) are filled based on AP EAMCET scores.
  • 30 seats under the ICAR Quota, or 15% of the total seats, will be filled based on the results of the ICAR-conducted AIEEA.
  • 15% of the available seats are set aside for candidates based on their performance on the HorticET, an exam that the university will administer to candidates who have successfully completed the 2-year Horticulture diploma program.

Admissions 2023 for M.Sc and Ph.D. Programe

University offers admittance to PG and research programs in addition to UG studies. The Master of Science program offers a number of specialisations.

The results of the entrance exam will be used to determine which candidates to accept into the M.Sc. or Ph.D. programs. Those who pass the entrance exam will be invited to a counselling session, often known as a personal interview session. The results of the personal interview and the entrance exam scores will be taken into account when creating the final list. The institute will therefore be allocated appropriately.
