About 97 programs are available from university in regular and distant formats. Additionally, it offers Industrial Training Institutes vocational instruction. Candidates may only apply online for admission to university. University Admission typically opens in May and runs through September of each year.

Currently, the University's DDE provides 2 diploma and certificate programs in addition to 5 UG, 6 graduate, and 1 PG course.

Admissions 2024 for PG Courses

The entrance exam scores administered by University or the qualifying exam's merit are used to determine admission to the postgraduate program. For MBA/MCA/BTech Lateral Entry and B.Ed/M.Ed programs, respectively, the University also accepts scores from the AICTE Entrance Test and the NCTE Entrance Test. The following courses are available for part-time enrolment for students enrolled in any program at the university; however, these programs will only be offered if at least 10 students are admitted.

At University, the following specialisations are available for both the Diploma and PG Diploma:

• PG Diploma in Functional Urdu in Urdu
• 25 seats in Tahseen-e-Ghazal (Urdu diploma)
• 20 spots for the Urdu certificate course Hindi (PG Diploma in Functional Hindi)
• 20 seats Arabic (Advance Diploma in Professional Arabic)
• 25 seats- Arabic (Diploma in Arabic)
• 25 seats Arabic (Certificate of Proficiency in Arabic) – 30 seats – 25 places
• Persian (Persian diploma) – 25 places

Eligibility Criteria: Diploma and PG Diploma 

• Urdu (PG Diploma in Functional Urdu): 45% overall completion required for graduation. studied Urdu in grades 10–12 and graduation
• Diploma in Tahseen-e-Ghazal (Urdu) - A 12th grade diploma and fluency in Hindi, English, and Urdu
• Urdu (Urdu Certificate Program) - A 12th grade diploma with proficiency in Hindi, English, and Urdu (PG Diploma in Functional Hindi)- UG with Hindi receiving 45% of the possible marks
• B.A. Hons. Arabic (Advance Diploma in Professional Arabic). Written in Arabic/Fazeelat by a reputable Madarsa.
• Arabic (Diploma): 12th grade pass with Arabic as a subject; Alim from an approved madrasa; or Arabic certificate program.
• Arabic (10th from any accredited institution) (Certificate of Proficiency in Arabic).
  Persian (Persian diploma) - A 12th grade diploma or its equivalent, an Alim or Fazil degree from an accredited school, and proficiency in written and Urdu.

The University Application Procedure

To apply for admission to University, take the actions listed below:

• Go to the University's official webpage.
• Select the Admission tab on Website
• From the entrance tab's drop-down list, pick the preferred choice.
• Select the 'Register' menu item.
• Make sure to complete all the required fields while registering.
• A confirmation email with the Registration Id and Password will be sent to the registered email address after all the information has been completed.
• Enter your registration ID and password to log in now. Finish filling out the application form in its entirety.
• Use a credit/debit card or net banking to pay the application fees.
• Submit in the application.

Note: For Entrance Test based courses students will be required to download the admit card and appear for the entrance exam on the desired date and time. Failing to do so may lead to the cancellation of the application.

Admission for Directorate of Distance Education

Selection Criteria
Online applications are accepted for admission to Maulana Azad National Urdu University's Directorate of Distance Education. Candidates must go to the Directorate of Distance Education at University's official website in order to apply for any of their programs.

All distance learning courses have merit-based admissions, with the exception of the MA and B. Ed. Arabic programs.

Steps to apply

• Visit the Admission portal at the official website of MANUU - DDE.
• Candidates need to click on the 'Admission Portal' button on the website.
• They will then have to register themselves on the portal.
• The candidate's login credentials like username and password will be generated and shared through email or SMS.
• The candidate will then have to login into their registered profiles on the Admission Portal.
• The candidate is required to fill out the application form accurately.
• Scanned documents like identity proof, academic certificates, passport-sized photographs, and signatures, among others, need to be uploaded.
• Select the desired program of choice.
• The candidate needs to select their nearest Regional Centre and Learner Support Centre.
• Submit the application form with the scanned and uploaded documents.
• To complete the application process, the candidate is required to pay the application fees online.
