Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Telangana is home to Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, an authorised state university. Established in 1985, the university has UGC approval. The NAAC awarded it a "B" rating for accreditation as an autonomous institution. In the state of Telangana, this university is the first to use CBCS curriculum. With 16th departments, 7 schools, and 5 centres located in Hyderabad, Rajahmundry, Srisailam, Warangal, and Kuchipudi, University provides academic programs.

The university offers UG, PG, Ph.D., diploma, certificate, and regular as well as distance learning courses in a variety of subjects, including linguistics, dance, drama, theatre, journalism, Jyotisha, and folk and tribal lore. It also provides courses for non-Telugu speakers living in other Indian states and international students. PG Diploma and Certificate programmes in Music, Astrology, and Film Direction are under the self-financed category.

The university provides eight certification programs, nine specialisations in diploma courses, and a BFA course for UG students. The minimum qualification for all of these is 12th. University provides 6 MA specialisations, 4 MPA specialisations, and MCJ courses that need graduation for postgraduate students. The university also provides PG courses, such as 11 PG Diploma programs and 8 specialisations under Ph.D. programs.

All students at University receive coaching for the NET and other government competitive examinations. Additionally, it provides SC/ST students with remedial coaching in spoken English. Telugu Vaani, a tri-monthly magazine, was also published by the university.

Admission at University

• The University's PSTUCET entrance exam determines who gets admitted to which UG and graduate programs.
• The University's interview, merit, and entrance exam are used to determine the Ph.D. candidates.
• Applicants who have completed a JRF are not required to take the Ph.D. admission exam.
