University (RGU), formerly known as Arunachal University, is the oldest university in the state. It provides PG courses in over 39 fields, as well as M.Phil, Ph.D., and PG Diploma programs. There are 35 colleges affiliated with the university dispersed around the state. Admission to various courses is launched in the months of June and July. Aspirants seeking admission can apply online by visiting RGU's official website. This university also provides education through distance learning.

University allocates 60% of all UG and PG seats for ST candidates. 9% of seats are reserved for OBC (non-creamy layer), 3% for SC, 3% for the differently abled, and 5% for ex-servicemen's wards. The remaining 20% of seats are accessible to candidates from other categories.

Admission 2024 for UG Program

BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BFA, BCA, B.Music, and BALLB are among the UG programs offered by University. BA and B.Sc are available in a variety of streams. These courses last 3 years each, whereas BALLB lasts 5. Candidates must have completed class 12 (arts, commerce, or science) from a recognized board. Admission to these courses will be through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET).

Selection procedure for UG Programs

Candidates for UG courses at University will be selected based on their CUET 2024 scores and the resulting merit list.

• Candidates applying for the BCA course will be chosen based on their merit.
• Candidates applying for B.Sc in Geology will be admitted based on their CUET/RGUCET results.
• Candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PWD/OBC categories shall be selected based on the Government of India's criteria.

Application Procedure for UG Program

Candidates seeking admission to UG courses at university must apply for CUET through the university's official website. The comprehensive instructions for filling out the online application are provided below.

• Candidates must visit the NTA's official website.
• Candidates must register themselves using a valid email address and phone number.
• Candidates must generate a password and an application number.
• After successfully registering, candidates must upload a photograph (10Kb-200Kb) and a signature (4Kb-30Kb) together with their educational papers.
• Candidates must also attach scanned copies of the Category Certificate and the PWD Certificate.
• Candidates must carefully review the application form before submitting it.
• Candidates must pay the application fees online only.
• The candidate must keep a printout of the submitted application form and fee receipt for future reference.

Admission 2024 for MA. M.Com & M.Sc 

The M.A program offers specializations in Anthropology, Economics, Education, English, Geography, Hindi, History, Mass Communication, Political Science, Sociology, and Tribal Studies. M.Sc specializations include botany, chemistry, mathematics and computing, physics, and zoology.

SC, ST, and OBC (NCL) students with Honours or Pass course degrees receive a 5% discount. Candidates with a B.Ed. degree and at least 45% marks are also eligible for the M.A. in Education program.

Admission 2024 for B.Ed. and M.Ed. Program

University Admission B.Ed, M.Ed Admission 2024 The B.Ed program is 2 years long and divided into 4 semesters. The entrance process is merit-based 

The M.Ed programme duration is 2 and divided into 4 semesters. Out of the 20 seats, 10 are for paid entry and the remaining 10 are for direct admittance. Admission is completely based on merit.

Admission 2024 for  BCA, MCA, M.Tech, MBA & MSW

BCA and MCA are 3-year studies with 6 semesters, whereas M.Tech, MBA, and MSW are 2-year courses with four semesters each. Candidates with a valid GATE score are given preference in admission to the M.Tech program.

AIMETE and IETE graduates are eligible to apply for M.Tech in Electronics and Computer Engineering. MBA and MSW applicants must take a written test, followed by a personal interview. In the case of an MSW programme, applicants must participate in a round of group discussions.

Admission 2024 for  M.Phil & Ph.D

University has M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs in Anthropology, Hindi, Economics, Political Science, Tribal Science, Mass Communication, History, Geography, Commerce, Botany, and Zoology. Admission is based on the RGUMPET score, followed by a personal interview. UGC/CSIR-JRF holders are exempt from the entrance test and must just attend the personal interview.

M.Phil students from UGC-recognized universities are excluded from the test. The university's Ph.D. students are instantly eligible for the UGC (non-NET) Fellowship.
The number of seats available for the Ph.D. program varies year after year. However, 25% of the total seats are allocated for M.Phil students from university or any other UGC-accredited university, 25% for JRF holders, and the remaining 50% for those who apply through an entrance exam.

Application Procedure 2024 

Application forms can be obtained and submitted in four methods, as detailed below:

1. Purchase the prospectus and application form from the University campus and submit the completed application form personal.
2. Download the prospectus from the official website and submit the completed application form to the University campus.
3. Pay the application fee online using net banking, credit, or debit cards.
4. Apply online with papers and pay the application fees through DD or challan.

After submitting the forms, candidates are asked to monitor the status of their applications on the university website. The following documents (Xerox or scanned copies) are required:

• Passport-sized photographs (scanned copies should be no more than 25KB).
• Scanned copy of signature and left thumb impression (maximum file size 25KB).
