University in Assam is a state university that was established in 1965. It provides a variety of UG, graduate, diploma, and Ph.D. courses. At the UG level. The university provides UG degrees in B.Ed, B.Pharm, BCA, B.Li.Sc, B.P.Ed, BBA, BA (Performing Arts), and B.Tech in a variety of subjects, as well as combined B.Sc-M.Sc and BA-LL.B courses. This university also provides education through distance learning.

Admission 2024 for PG Program

University admits students to a variety of PG degrees. Graduate degree holders will be eligible to enroll in these courses. The majority of courses admit students based on their qualifying examination scores. The admission to M.Pharm will be dependent on GPAT scores.

Admission 2024 for Ph.D. Program

The university also provides research programs in a variety of topics. Admission to Ph.D. programs is conducted by the University Research Admission Test (DURAT), followed by an interview. Admission to D.Litt or D.Sc. is based on performance in the qualifying examination. Ph.D. candidates (other than those from the Medical and Engineering disciplines) must have at least 55% in their Master's Degree or comparable grade mark.

 Important Points:

• Candidates having a BE/B.Tech degree and a valid JRF/NET/GATE score may also apply for the Ph.D. program.
• The university also admits NRIs and overseas students to UG and PG programs.
• Foreign/NRI students must meet the same educational requirements as Indian students in order to be admitted to various programs.

Admission 2024 for PG Diploma

The University also offers a variety of PG Diploma, Certificate, and Advanced PG Diploma courses to applicants.

The minimum requirement for a PG Diploma is a bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university. Certificate courses require candidates to pass 12th examinations from recognized boards.

A written test followed by a group discussion is used to select candidates for the PG Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication program. Admission to the PGDCA, Diploma in Computer Application, Advanced PGD in Nano Science and Composite Materials, PGD in Tai Language, Certificate in Tai Language, and PGCWS is based on merit. Selection to PGD in Tourism Management is based on the written test (CMSDU Test) score, followed by PI.  Admission to the rest of the courses is done on the basis of a written test.
