Magadh University accepts students at the UG, graduate, and research levels. At UG level, standard courses such as B.A, B.Sc, B.Com, B.Lib.Sc, and B.Voc are available, as well as professional courses such as B.Ed, B.P.Ed, and LLB. To be eligible for these courses, students must have at least 50% marksin 12th level . 

University offers PG courses M.A., M.Sc., M.Com, and M.Lib.Sc, MBA, M.Ed, and MCA. To be eligible for PG program, students must have graduated with at least 50% marks. Admission will be given based on merit in the qualifying test, with the exception of the M.Ed. course, which requires candidates to take an entrance exam conducted by University. Students must pass the CAT exam in order to apply for an MBA. After passing the admission exam, suitable students will be contacted for counseling.

At the research level, the university offers Ph.D. courses in a variety of specializations. Students seeking admission to the Ph.D. program must take a pre-Ph.D. test administered by the university. Aside from normal, campus-based, full-time courses, the institution provides Diploma, PG Diploma, and distance learning programs. The university provides Ph.D. programs in a variety of specialisations. Students considering Ph.D. must have obtained a master's degree with at least 55%. To be eligible for a Diploma course, students must have finished 12th from a recognized board, while applicants for a PG Diploma course must have graduated from a recognized institution.
