University is an open university in Patna, Bihar. It was formed in 1987 and is recognized by the University Grants Commission.

University provides UG, graduate, PG, and research level courses in computer application, commerce, arts, management, sciences, journalism and mass communication, education, and library and information science.

  • Applicants for UG courses must have completed the 12th test from a recognized university.
  • Candidates for B.Ed., BLIS, PG, and PG Diploma courses must hold a Bachelor's degree.

Admissions 2024 for UG Program

University offers UG programs include B.Ed., BLIS, BA, BA (Hons), B.Sc. (Hons), B.Com, BBA, and BCA. The minimum requirement is 12th in the relevant stream. Candidates for B.Ed. must have a Bachelor's degree with 45% grades and at least 2 years of work experience. The minimum requirement for the B.LiB. & I.Sc. program is bachelor's degree in any discipline.

University Application Process 2024

Candidates interested in applying to University can fill out both an online and offline application. Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. program must, nevertheless, take the University's Entrance Test. The application process for admission is as follows:

Offline mode:

Visit the college's official website to obtain and fill out the application form.
The applicant should send/submit the form personal to the following address, accompanied with a demand draft for Rs. 350 written in the name of "Nalanda Open University, Payable at Patna":

  • On the back of the Demand Draft, the candidate should include his name, contact information, admission form number, and the name of the course for which he has applied.
  • Once the application form is received, it will be processed within the specified time frame, and students will be notified to visit the college campus for the Entrance Test (for Ph.D.)/Final Admission procedures, together with the requisite papers (original) and admission fees.
  • Admission forms can also be received from the University campuses by paying INR 450/- through DD.
  • Candidates can also send the application fee of INR 400/- by registered post.
    NOTE: University does not take cash or postal orders.

Online Mode:

  • Visit the official website and click on the "Online Admission" option.
  • If you are a first-time applicant, select New Admission and establish a new account.
  • Read over all of the instructions carefully before proceeding to register.
  • After successfully registering, you will receive an email or SMS with your username, password, and OTP.
  • Using the above credentials, complete the online application form with all of the essential information.
  • Also, upload scanned photos of documents.
  • Following the preview, submit the application form.
  • Finally, submit the required application fees online.
