Bhagalpur University was the previous name of Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU), spread on 264 acres. University was founded in 1960 as a pedagogical university. It consists of 12 constituent colleges, 25 associated colleges that receive government funding, and 4 research institutes. The NAAC awarded the teaching staff and students a "Grade B" accreditation in recognition of their hardships. The university has 130000 students enrolled in its UG program, and 6200 students are enrolled in its graduate program.
