The Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, situated in India's rice bowl, has been a teaching institution dedicated to accelerating the state of Chhattisgarh's agricultural progress, established in 1987. The route that began as "Labhandi Farm" has developed into the expansive university complex. The University's UG, graduate, and doctoral programs provide a wide range of courses in the subject in agriculture. There are 23 government colleges that make up the university and 15 private colleges that are linked.

Admissions at University

  • The admission in B.Sc. Agriculture/Horticulture is confirmed on the basis of merit in the CG PAT of the State Board. Admission in B. Tech. of Agriculture Engineering is offered on the basis of performance in the Pre Engineering Test (PET).
  • The admissions to PG courses are allocated based on the merit in the Common Entrance Test(CET) for graduates of Agriculture.
  • For Ph.D. also a Common Entrance Test is conducted by the university and admission criteria includes-performance in CET, academic score in PG and written and oral tests.
