The Kushabhau Thakre Journalism and Mass Communication University Act created Kushabhau Thakre Patrakarita Awam Jansanchar University. It is India's first "Media Gurukul." It offers excellent journalism research and education facilities. One of the nation's greatest political figures, the late Sri Kushabhau Thakre, is honoured with the university's name.
