Admissions for M.Sc and M.Tech
The qualifying requirements for candidates wishing to enrol in M.Sc. and M.Tech degree programs are developed by university. Every academic year, the Academic Council revises the requirements for eligibility. The prerequisite for general eligibility is a bachelor's degree in the 10+2+4 pattern or an equivalent. All information pertaining to admission will be provided to candidates in the Information Bulletin found on the institute's website.
Applicants must complete the application, mail it to the relevant authority, pay offline, and attach the necessary paperwork. The last week of April is when application forms should be submitted, and the admission exam is held in May.

Admissions 2024 for Ph.D.
Admission to the Ph.D. program in any of its 26 subjects is determined by the results of the admission exam that IARI administers. The entrance exam consists of 3 sections: Paper I is on general agriculture, and Parts II and III are subject-specific papers. The ultimate outcome is determined by adding the 10% weighted overall academic score (which includes Class X and XII marks) and the 10% weighted personal interview score. The written test score accounts for 80% of the total score.

Scholarships for Students
According to the Standing Committee on Scholarships, Financial Assistance, and Academic Progress' recommendation, IARI grants Junior and Senior Scholarships to its PG and Ph.D. students who are admitted under the General Open Competition Scheme.
The candidates are awarded the scholarship based on their performance and acceptance to the PG program. Junior/Senior Scholarships have terms of two years and 3 years, respectively, with the possibility of extensions of three or 6 months in extraordinary circumstances. The Junior Scholarship is worth INR 10, 500 per month for PG students, and the Senior Scholarship is worth INR 13, 125 per month for doctorate candidates.
