National Law University Admissions 2024-25

Delhi's university UG admission is available for BA LLB (Hons), PG admission is available for LLM, and doctorate admission is available for Ph.D.. For qualified applicants, the university also grants admission to the IP Joint Masters/LLM program. Candidates for the BA LLB (Hons), LLM, and Ph.D. programs must take the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET), which is conducted by university, and then attend counselling in order to be admitted. Applicants who meet the requirements for an M.Phil., JRF, SLET, or UGC NET are not eligible to take the admission exam.

Admissions 2025 to BA LLB (Hons) 

UG admission to BA LLB (Hons) is available in Delhi. Applicants are given the opportunity to enrol in the five-year BA LLB (Hons) degree contingent on their AILET performance. Table with comprehensive course information is provided below:

Eligibility for 2025

For Admissions to the BA LLB (Hons) program at University, applicants must have received at least a 50% on their 12th or comparable exam. In order to be admitted to University's Foreign National level of the B.A.LL.B. (H) program, candidates must have received at least 65% in their 12th or equivalent test.

Selection Criteria 2025 

The university conducts the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET), and admission to the BA LLB (Hons) programme is determined by merit. It is not necessary for students who are foreign nationals to take the admission exam.

Admissions 2025 to LLM Program

Admission to the LLM program is available for year at university. There are 81 places available each year for intake. Applicants who hold an LLB degree are accepted. The table below contains comprehensive details regarding the LLM course.

Admissions 2025 to Ph.D.

3-5 year Ph.D. research programs are offered at university. The minimal prerequisite for enrolment in Ph.D. program is PG, and candidates are selected according to how well they score on an entrance exam.

Eligibility Criteria: Master’s degree in law, social sciences or humanities with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD).

Eligibility Criteria 2025

Applicants for Ph.D. programs who meet the following requirements are eligible:

  • Master's degree or its equivalent, with at least 55% marks required.
  • Master's degree with an M.Phil in the humanities or social sciences with at least 55% marks.
  • The Ph.D. program may also accept applicants with three years of experience as judges of either the Indian Supreme Court or a State High Court.

Selection Criteria 2025

To select candidates for admission to its Ph.D. program, university conducts a written exam.

  • Candidates who pass the JRF, SLET, or UGC NET qualifying exams or have a valid score are not required to take written exams; instead, they must submit a research proposal and show up for an interview or viva voice.
  • It is not necessary to take the written exam if one has an M.Phil in law. They have to turn in a study proposal and appear for the viva or interview.
