National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration Admissions 2024-25

For both domestic and foreign points of view, the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) provides M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs in Educational Policy, Planning, and Administration. University program admissions are typically handled between April and August. The institution administers an entrance exam and then conducts personal interview to select candidates for admission to M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs. Applicants for the M.Phil program may also be those who are in their last year of master's degree.

 The PG Diploma in Educational Planning & Administration (PGDEPA) is another program that university provides. Admissions 2024 to M.Phil Program

2-year M.Phil. program in Educational Planning, Educational Administration, Educational Policy, and Educational Finance is offered by university. Following the round of personal interviews, candidates are finally selected for an M.Phil program. The following lists the requirements for admission to and selection for the NIEPA M.Phil program:

Eligibility Criteria:

Master’s degree in social sciences or allied disciplines with minimum 55% marks. Candidates possessing Master’s degree in other disciplines may apply as well, provided they have work or teaching experience in educational planning, policy, and administration

Important Points:

  • Admission is also open to NET/JRF scholars.
  • For reserved categories, there is 50% relaxation in the minimum eligibility requirement.
  • As long as they received at least 55% in the preceding exam or semester, candidates for Master's degree who are taking the final year exam are deemed eligible.

Admission to University PGDEPA 2024

Additionally, university provides the PG Diploma in Educational Planning & Administration (PGDEPA). The applicant must have bachelor's degree in any field to be eligible. Previous academic merit is the basis for selecting candidates for the program.

Eligibility Criteria:      Graduation in any discipline with at most 50 years age.

Selection Criteria:      Based on Academic merit in qualifying exam

Key Points:

  • Candidates must be nominated by State Government or approved authority.
  • At least 2 years of working experience in the relevant area.

Admissions 2024 to Ph.D. Program

The Ph.D. programs in Educational Planning, Educational Administration, Educational Policy, and Educational Finance are also open to students at the university. Candidates who are interested can register in either full-time or part-time programs. Admission is open to candidates with an M.Phil. degree in a related field. Those who have articles published in reputable publications and outstanding academic qualifications in social sciences or related fields are also regarded as suitable.

Entrance Test and Personal Interview

Important Points:

  • M.Phil. graduates who have a Faculty Grade Point Average (FGPA) of 6 or higher on 10-point scale are also eligible for admission.
  • Full-time regular employment at senior-level educational functions is required for selection to Ph.D. program on part-time basis.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in the teaching or research sector is required, and during the course of schoolwork, one year of leave from the organisation must be obtained.

  • Upload every document that is required.
  • Apply online using a credit/debit card or net banking to pay the non-refundable application fee of INR 800 (Rs. 400 for SC/ST and EWS candidates).

Fellowships from University

University fellowships will be awarded to M.Phil. and Ph.D. candidates who are enrolled full-time. The institution will grant the same to NET-qualified applicants with JRF in compliance with UGC guidelines. Fellowship continued is conditional upon the scholar's progress report being duly approved by their supervisor.
