Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University, New Delhi
SLBSRSV, now known as "Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University," was granted "deemed University" status by UGC in 1987. It was founded in 1962 in New Delhi as a Central Sanskrit University.
The 10th 5-year plan review Committee recognised SLBSRSV's continuing outstanding performance. SLBSRSV proposes understanding and protecting Shastric traditions in a modern context.
