TERI University was founded on August 19, 1998, and is located in New Delhi. The University Grants Commission (UGC) recognised the university as a deemed university in 1999.

University provides UG and PG programs in various departments, including Sustainable Development, Environmental Studies, Natural Resources Management, Resource and Environmental Economics, Climate Change Science and Policy, Renewable Energy Technologies and Management, Water Resources Management, Geoinformatics, Plant Biotechnology, Business Sustainability, Infrastructure Management. The University also offers Ph.D. programs in various subjects, including biotechnology, regulatory and policy elements, energy and the environment, natural resources, water resources, and business sustainability.

Aside from PG and Ph.D. programs, University also provides PG Diploma and Certificate courses. Eligible candidates may apply to this university based on their interests. However, they will have to go through various procedures in order to be admitted.

Admissions Highlights of University

Admissions 2024 to M.Tech

University provides Master of Technology (M.Tech) programs in various specialisations, including Renewable Energy Engineering and Management, Urban Development, and Water Science and Governance. The courses are available for 2 years.

Eligible students must take an online admission test administered by the university. The shortlisted candidates must also participate in personal interview, which is conducted by the university.

• Preference will be given to GATE/NET qualified candidates.

Admissions 2024 to MBA

At PG level, the university also provides Master of Business Administration (MBA) program to aspiring candidates interested in a career in administration. The degree is provided in 2 specialisations: Business Sustainability and Infrastructure, with a two-year duration.

Candidates must meet the qualifying criteria for admission. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their CAT/MAT/GMAT/CMAT/XAT scores. Candidates who have not taken the above tests are eligible to take the University common entrance exam.

Candidates with 2 years or more of experience may be excluded from the previously mentioned requirements; this is determined by the selection committee.

Admission 2024 to LLM Program

Candidates who want to go after a career in law can do so because the university offers 1-year LLM program. The course is offered in 2 specialisations: Environment and Natural Resources Law and Infrastructure and Business Law.

Only candidates with an LL.B. or B.L. degree are eligible for admission to this university's LLM program. However, the eligible candidate will be selected based on their performance in the university's All-India Online Entrance Test. Candidates who have been shortlisted must also attend personal interview.

 Admission 2024 to PG

The university provides Master of Arts (MA) and Master of Science (M.Sc) programs that last 2 years each. The university also offers 1-year PG Diploma programme. The M.A. programme focusses on Public Policy and Sustainable Development, as well as Sustainable Development Practice, whereas the M.Sc course focusses on Climate Science and Policy, Economics, Environmental Studies and Resource Management, Geoinformatics, Plant Biotechnology, and Water Science and Governance. The PG Diploma degree focusses on Water Science & Governance and Public Policy & Sustainable Development. Intake capacity is determined by the candidates' selected specialisations.

Eligible candidates for admission to MA and M.Sc courses must first complete an online entrance test, followed by personal interview with the university.

Candidates seeking admission to the PG Diploma program will be selected based on their final qualifying examination scores and performance in personal interview.

Note: To be eligible for admission to MA PPSD, officers must have completed 5 years of group A service at the time of program start. Candidates must have at least 3 years service remaining after completing the training. The officers should not have participated in a training programme of 12 weeks or more in India within the 5 years preceding the start of this program. Furthermore, the officer should not have completed a training program overseas lasting more than two weeks in the previous 2 years, 1 month in the previous 3 years, or 6 months in the previous 5 years.

Admissions 2024 to Ph.D. 

University provides Ph.D. programs in various specialisations, including bioresources and biotechnology, business sustainability, energy and the environment, natural resources management, policy studies, and water science and governance.

Candidates having an M.Sc or M.Phil or a Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent, and a minimum CGPA of 8.0 on a 10-point scale or 75% marks, should apply in this category. Admission, however, will be based on performance in university-conducted personal interview.

Admission 2024 to Distance Education 

Apart from traditional courses, the university also provides Distance Education to its students. This programme offers 2 courses: PG Diploma in Renewable Energy and Advanced PG Diploma in Renewable Energy.

Admission to this university is open to graduates in any field, as well as those with a diploma in engineering (which is regarded equivalent to graduation). However, candidates are selected based on their performance in the previous qualifying examination.

Application Procedure 2024

Candidates must fill out the form online at the university's website. 

There are 2 ways for making the payment after submitting the online registration form.

To pay online, select ONLINE PAYMENT MODE. Payment by Net Banking, Debit Card, or Credit Card through an online secure payment channel. Please ensure that you provide the right card details of the Debit/Credit card holder when paying using the online payment portal.

The other method of payment is a DEMAND DRAFT written in favour of "Registrar, TERI University" payable in New Delhi. If you pay with a demand draft, you will receive a provisional registration number.

Send the Demand Draft to The Registrar, TERI UNIVERSITY, 10 Institutional Area, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi - 110 070, India, through registered or fast post/courier, along with a cover letter indicating your provisional registration number.

The application fees is INR 1250/- for each course.
