Dharmsinh Desai University [DDU], established in Nadiad, is one of Gujarat's largest universities. Shri Dharmsinh Dadubhai Desai established the university in 1968. In 2020, the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked the university in the 101-150 range. Dr. H. M. Desai, the beloved Vice-Chancellor of the University, has also received the Padma Shri award from the President of India.
Today, University provides world-class Graduate, PG, and Doctoral programs in Technology, Dental Science, Pharmacy, Medical Science, and Management & Information Science. Admission Procedure at University
Admission to various courses offered by University [DDU] requires eligibility requirements. The process of admission to various courses is outlined below:-
Candidates must take the GUJCET exam for admission to B.Tech courses. Once qualified, candidates will be contacted for counselling by the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC). Seats will be allocated based only on the candidate's GUJCET score and branch preference.
Candidates applying for M.Tech courses must take the GATE exam, also known as the Gujarat Common Entrance Exam (GUJCET). Students are selected based on their scores in the following exams.
Students must take the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) in order to be admitted to various management courses such as M.B.A. and M.C.A. The merit list of selected students is generated based on their exam scores. Students can complete the application form found on the University's website.
For admission to Pharmaceutical Science courses, candidates must first pass the GUJCET exam. Only qualified students will be engaged in counselling and other documents processes. Students who wish to get an MBBS degree must take the NEET exam. Their selection depends only on their NEET score.

Scholarships for Students
Every year, 4 students at university receive Rs. 25,000 based on merit and merit cum means. If the students meet the basic standards, they will continue to receive the scholarship for at most 4 years.
The "DDU Alumni Association Scholarship Fund" has been established, through which any individual or organisation wishing to assist financially disadvantaged students can apply. Until now, many of the ex-students have come up for "Vidya Dan". If anyone is prepared to help, please draw a DD in favour of the DDU Alumni Association.
Facilities at University
Environment- The university's environment is designed to help students develop in all areas. Throughout the year, the institution conducts a wide range of co-curricular events in addition to academic programs. This ensures the students' overall development.
Teaching Faculty- The teaching faculty is highly educated and experienced, which enhances the learning experience for students. Student commitment is ensured through meetings, classes, and seminars.
Library - The well-developed library, combined with the internet, provides access to a large number of e-journals and books. In addition, all of the most recent books and journals are available offline, totalling over 57,000 items that staff and students can read at any time.
Hostel - The university provides hostel facilities for both boys and girls, including all essential utilities. However, because places are restricted, students are picked accordingly.
Sports - Sports activities are held annually to encourage student participation in sports. All sports grounds are well-maintained and equipped with all necessary facilities.
