Mahatma Gandhi founded Gujarat Vidyapith in 1920. Gujarat Vidyapith is a UGC-recognized deemed university. The institution provides UG programs such as B.A., B.Sc., B.Ed., BPES, B.P.Ed., and B.Lib.I.Sc. The PG programs include M.A., M.Ed., M.P.Ed., M.Lib.I.Sc., MSW, M.Sc., MCA, and MBA. The university also provides M.Phil, Ph.D., PGD, and Certificate programs.
Admission to these programs is obtained by applying directly to the university. Most UG programs pick candidates based on merit. For programs such as B.Ed. Hindi, students must take University-conducted admission test. The University conducts an entrance test for PG programs such as MCA and MBA. The M.Phil and Ph.D. programs also require candidates to take an entrance exam.
Most UG programs are of last 3 years. The B.Ed. degree is lasts 2 years, whereas the B.P.Ed. and B.Lib.I.Sc. programs last 1 year. Except for MCA and M.Lib.I.Sc, all PG programs last 2 years. The MCA program takes 3 years to complete, but the M.Lib.I.Sc. takes only 1 year.

Admission 2024 to UG Program
Gujarat Vidyapith provides various UG degrees, including Physical Education and Library and Information Sciences. The B.A., B.Sc., and BPES programs require 3 years to complete, whilst the B.Ed. program takes 2 years. The following courses require only one year to finish.
Candidates for the B.A., B.Sc., and BPES programs must have completed their 12th. For the remaining programs, candidates can be graduates of any discipline. It should also be noted that candidates for the B.Sc. program must have completed their 12th in the Science stream.
Candidates for admission to the B.Ed. Hindi course (which is NCTE recognised) must additionally take a University-conducted admission test. After passing the entrance test, suitable candidates may be required to attend personal interview before final selection.

Gujarat Vidyapith's PG programs include the standard MA, M.Ed., MSW, and M.Sc. The college also provides PG programs in Library Sciences and Physical Education. Most PG programs take 2 years to finish, however the M.Lib.I.Sc. takes only one year.

Admission 2024 to MBA and MCA Program
The University's MBA program specialises in rural management and takes roughly two years to finish. To be deemed eligible, the candidate must be a graduate in any discipline with minimum GPA 45%.
The MCA program is a full-time 3-year course. To be qualified, the candidate must have graduate degree with at least 40% marks and a Second Class in their first trial.
Candidates for admission to each of these programs must take an objective-type entrance test administered by the University. Candidates who pass the test will have to participate in another round of group discussions and personal interviews. Selection will be completely based on merit.
