National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management Admissions 2024-25

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries established the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) in Sonepat, which is considered a university. It was founded in 2012 ,based in Sonepat, Haryana. University provides B.Tech., M.Tech., MBA, and Ph.D. programs in various specialisations.

  • Candidates seeking admission to the B.Tech course must have 12th exam.
  • Selection to B.Tech is based on JEE Main scores, followed by NIFTEM's online counselling.
  • Students applying for the M.Tech program must have Bachelor's or Master's degree with minimum 60%.

Admission 2024 to B.Tech Program

University allows students to its B.Tech curriculum in Food Technology and Management in accordance with the Academic Council and the Government of India's guidelines. The B.Tech degree lasts 4 years and accepts total 180 applicants.

Candidates will be selected based on their All India JEE Main Rank, followed by online counselling at NIFTEM, Sonepat. The basic requirement for B.Tech is that the applicant have 12th in the Science stream with minimum 50% marks in all subjects.

 Admission 2024 to B.Tech Program

University provides M.Tech in 5 specialisations during 2-year period, with an intake of 18 in each specialisation.

Admission is based on the GATE score, followed by a personal interview. The merit list will be created by multiplying the legitimate GATE score by 0.07 (70% weightage) and adding the marks achieved in the interview. For non-GATE applicants, the institute will provide an admission test followed by an interview. Candidates who score more than or equal to the cutoff marks will be invited for an interview. If all seats are filled by GATE applicants, no entrance test will be required.

M.Tech candidates must have completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in related subject with minimum 60% in aggregate.

Admission 2024 to MBA Program

University allows students for MBA dual specialisation programs. Student must study Food & Agri-Business Management in conjunction with either of the Finance, Marketing, or International Business streams.

Students having bachelor's degree and an overall GPA of 50% (45% for SC/ST applicants) are eligible to apply. The final selection will be based on the CAT/MAT score, GD/PI, academic performance, and job experience. The institute conducts an entrance test for non-CAT/MAT candidates.
