The Himachal Pradesh Technological University, Hamirpur is well-known for its technological programs, including B.Tech and M.Tech. University provides 4-year B.Tech degree with 10 different specialties at UG level.

Aside from this, the university accepts candidates for admission to the B.Tech program through lateral entry if they match the standards. The total fee for the B.Tech program at university is INR 1.97 lakh.

For admission to the B.Tech program, a general category candidate must have obtained a valid JEE Main cutoff score of 15-20. The seats would thereafter be allocated based on previous academic records and performance in the JEE Main entrance exam or class 12th.

Admission 2024 to B.Tech & B.Arch Program

University provides Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degrees in 10 distinct specialisations. All B.Tech courses last 4 years, whereas the B.Arch Program lasts 5 years. The institution also permits lateral entry (straight admission in the second year) for all three-year B.Tech courses.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have 12th or 10+3 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as major subjects from a recognised board of education.
• Candidates must have received minimum 50% aggregate marks for B.Arch and 45% aggregate marks for B.Tech.

Selection Criteria:

• The JEE Main entrance test or HPCET exam, which is conducted by university, is the only basis for admission to the B.Tech curriculum.
• B.Arch aspirants must have a valid NATA/JEE Main score.

Steps to Apply for JEE Main

Candidates who are eligible for admission must sit the JEE Main. The application process is outlined below:

• To register for JEE-Main, visit the official website and fill out the online registration form.
• Take note of the system-generated application number.
• Create a password.
• Log in again and complete the form.
• Upload scanned pictures of photos and signatures.
• 650 INR (325 INR for reserved categories) fees will be imposed. It is to be paid by Debit card, Credit card, Net banking.UPI or Paytm.
• Keep a printout of the application form for future use.

Admission 2024 to UG Program

University provides 3-year B.Sc in HMCT, BCA, and BBA degree at UG level. Aside from these, the institution provides 4-year B.Pharm degree in 2 major specialisations: allopathy and ayurveda.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates must have 12th in the appropriate stream from any recognised board of education.
• Candidates must have minimum 50% in aggregate.

Selection Criteria 2024

• University's common admission test, known as HPCET, is used to select students for its UG programs.
• Candidates must also have received good grades in their 12th exams.

Steps to Apply for UG Program:

• Click on HPTU's official admission website.
• Complete the application form by entering all required information. Than candidate will be given a username and password. Note down the form number, username, and password.
• Click on "login" and enter the user form number, name, and password.
• A verification page will show on your screen. Candidates must enter the OTP through email and input the OTP they got. This will validate the candidate's Email ID.
• Start filling out the application form by entering personal and academic information.
  Select the admission criterion by which you want to enrol in the college, i.e. National Level Test, HPCET, and Qualifying Examination for appearing in Counselling.
• Also, provide a scanned copy of your own signature (in *.JPEG/*.JPG file), a photograph (3.5 x 4.5 cm in JPEG/JPG format), and your parent/guardian's digital signature. The photos and signature file sizes should not exceed 50kb and 30kb, respectively.
• Furthermore, be cautious when specifying the category to which the applicant belongs; otherwise, the candidate will be regarded in the general category.
• Candidates who have not taken the HPCET must pay an application processing fee of INR 1550/- for general candidates and INR 1400/- for reserved candidates before submitting their application form.
• Click on "Final Submit".
• After completing the final submission, click "fee payment".
• To pay the fees, the candidate will see 2 options: "Offline link to generate PNB Challan" and "Online Fee Payment Link".
• Online payments can be done using a debit or credit card, as well as through Net Banking.
• After paying the fees, the candidate will be allowed to submit the application.
• A printout of the completed application form must be carried along with the declaration form, and a scanned copy of it must be delivered either by post (to the following address) or e-mail .
• For each program, the candidate must submit a different application form.

Admission 2024 to M.Tech Program

HPTU provides a year-long M.Tech program at the postgraduate level in five distinct specialisations: CSE, ECE, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Civil Engineering.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in engineering or technology from a recognised institution or college.
• Candidates must have received minimum 50% marks or 5.5 CGPA in their degree.

Selection Criteria 2024

• Selection to the M.Tech programme is based on merit lists created by the institution based on students' GATE test scores.
• If seats remain open, they will be filled based on HPCET merit.

Steps to Apply for GATE:

Those who are eligible for admission must take the GATE. The registration process is as follows:

• Visit the official website.
• Register through the link by providing the candidate's name, email address, and cell phone number.
• After submitting the form, an enrolment ID will be provided to the candidate's cellphone number.
• Fill up the application form.
• 1,500 INR (750 INR for women and reserved groups)fees will apply. It will be paid online.
• Download the form and printout for future reference.

Admission 2024 to MBA & MCA Program

University provides 2-year MBA and MCA program in general through regular mode, with fees of INR 54,200 and INR 66,450 for the first year, respectively. 

Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates for the MBA program must have  bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline from a recognised institution or college.
• Candidates for the MCA program should have BCA or B.Tech/B.E.
• Candidates should also have at least 50% or 5.5 CGPA on 10-point scale.

Selection Criteria:

• The university's merit-lists are used to select MBA students based on their CAT/MAT/CMAT or HPCET rank.
• The institution picks the top eligible candidates for MCA based on their HPCET scores from university.
