IIT Mandi- Indian Institute of Technology UG, PG Admission 2024: Form Last Date,Fees, Eligibility

University admissions 2024 for UG and graduate programs are based on national entrance exams. The institute provides B.Tech as its main degree of 4-year period. Admission to this degree will be based only on JEE Advanced marks after passing the JEE Mains test. 

University also provides M.Tech, M.Sc, MBA, and MA programs at PG level. For the M.Tech and M.Sc programs, the institute takes GATE and IIT JAM scores, followed by counselling. University has recently started M.Tech degree in Electric Transportation. Furthermore, MA admission is based on merit, written test, and personal interview. Applicants to university Ph.D. program are shortlisted based on their legitimate GATE, UGC NET, and CSIR scores, followed by a PI round.

Admission 2024 to B.Tech Program

University provides full-time B.Tech degree in 6 distinct specialisations over 4-year period. University primarily offers B.Tech programs in civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering physics, and data science and engineering. The first-year fees for the B.Tech program is INR 2.35 lakhs, with total 471 seats. B.Tech admission will be based on JEE Advanced scores, followed by JoSAA counselling.

NOTE: In addition to 4-year B. Tech curriculum, University provides 5-year Integrated B.Tech+M.Tech Bioengineering program.

Eligibility Criteria:

• 12th in science stream with minimum 75% marks.
• SC/ST candidates must have 65% in 12th. Alternatively, students in top 20 percentile of 12th can apply for B.Tech admission.
• Candidates must possess a valid JEE Advanced score.

Selection Criteria:

IIT BHU makes the ultimate selection through JoSAA Counselling based on the JEE Advanced rank. Only enrolled applicants may participate in the JoSAA Counselling procedure. Candidates are allocated seats in 7 rounds of JOSAA Counselling. Seat allocation is determined by the course and college selected upon registration.

Admission Proceduer 2024

Candidates interested in university B.Tech program can apply for admission following the processes outlined below:

Step 1: Apply for JEE Advanced using your valid JEE Main score.

Step 2: Once the college-wise cutoff is announced on the JoSAA website in July-August

Step 3: If yes, confirm and accept seat. Pay the fees.

Admission 2024 to M.Tech Program

University provides 2-year PG program. University M.Tech admission is based on merit and GATE score, followed by a written exam or interview. To participate in university seat allocation procedure, aspirants must first register with the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP). Only those who have registered with COAP can apply for M.Tech admission at university.

Eligibility Criteria:

• For M.Tech admission must have B.Tech degree in a suitable specialisation.
• A qualifying degree must have at least 60% marks or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale. SC/ST applicants must have CGPA 5.0 or 55% of their marks.
• Must graduated from an IIT and have CGPA at least 8.0 are not required to take the GATE exam and will be admitted to university based only on merit and interview.
• For non-IIT grads, possessing a valid GATE score is required.

Selection Criteria:

University gives ultimate admission to individuals based on their GATE scores. Furthermore, students must apply for the COAP counselling, through which candidates will be able to apply for the M.Tech program at university. 

Admission Procedure to MA Program

University provides 2-year full-time MA degree in development studies. This course accepts candidates from various backgrounds, including the humanities, social sciences, agricultural science, engineering, and fundamental sciences. Admission to the program is granted based on a written test or interview administered by the institute.

Eligibility Criteria:

For admission to MA in Development Studies program, must have bachelor's degree with minimum 55%.

Selection Criteria:

University will offer written exam or interview with qualifying individuals. Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the written exam or interview, and final merit list of those selected will be released for admission to the MA program.

Admissions 2024 to M.Sc Program

University also provides 2-year M.Sc PG degree. The curriculum is provided in 3 separate specialisations: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. For this curriculum, the institute fees INR 54,750 for the first year. The following are university M.Sc cutoff, eligibility & selection criteria, and admission process:

Cutoff 2024 of M.Sc

University M.Sc admissions are based on the IIT JAM score, followed by JOAPS counselling. University JAM Cutoff for 2024 has been published. Students can refer to the chart below for Round 1 general category candidates.

Eligibility Criteria:

Chemistry: Candidates must have B.Sc in the appropriate field from a recognised university with minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST/PWD) average.

Mathematics and Physics: Candidates must havE B.Sc / B.A with a major in Mathematics / Applied Science with 55% (50% for SC/ST/PWD).

Selection Criteria:

Candidates must fulfil the minimal qualifying criteria for M.Sc program. In addition, students must take the IIT JAM test and obtain a recognised rank. Furthermore, candidates must register for the JAM counselling, which will reserve their spots at the institute. 

Admission Procedure 2024 to University

For admission to M.Sc program must follow the procedures listed below to successfully register for the JAM counselling:

Step 1: Apply for IITJAM 2024.
Step 2: The college discloses M.Sc admissions cutoff, and candidates who meet the eligibility requirements must pay the acceptance fees and confirm their seat.

Admission 2024 to Ph.D. Program

University admits students to Ph.D. programs in Engineering/Sciences and Social Sciences on a regular, part-time, sponsored, external, project staff, and lateral entry basis. University provides Ph.D. program in 11 distinct specialisations. The following are the IIT Mandi Ph.D. eligibility and admission requirements for the direct Ph.D. program:

Eligibility Criteria:

• To be eligible for Ph.D. Program,  Master's degree in Engineering / Technology or a Master's degree in Research in Engineering/ Technology with minimum GPA 60% (55% for SC/ST/PWD) is must.
• In the event of a candidate with at least 5 years of work experience, the selection committee will make the final decision on entrance.

Selection Criteria:

• B.Tech degree from any of the IITs with at least 80% in aggregate. BE/B.Tech degree with at least 2 years of experience in a reputable research and development organisation.
• Institute staff/research scholars under QIP, as well as research scholars under the External Registration Scheme, are eligible to apply for part-time positions.
• University also admits part-time Ph.D. applicants from Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
