Central University of Jammu Admissions 2024-25

Central University of Jammu (CUJ) was founded under the Central Universities Act of 2009. It is located in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir state. It provides various conventional and professional PG degrees, as well as five-year integrated science studies. At the "School of Engineering" Central University of Jammu, students can study Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering (Cyber Security) under the mentorship of DRDO, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering (Avionics) under the guidance of IIST-ISRO.

University offers Ph.D. degrees in research, but only Bachelors of Vocation degrees at UG level. Among the programs offered by the university are MBA, M.Tech, MSW, M.A in Mass Communication and New Media, and M.Ed.

  • Admission to all programs for the academic year 2024-25 will be given through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), which will be conducted across India.
  • Only online applications for the CUET entrance exam are accepted. Following the entrance exam, students can engage in the admissions process either online or offline.
  • Bachelor's degree from is still required for admission to PG studies.
  • Admission to the research level is contingent on the availability of seats and requires a Master's degree.
  • Applicants for B.Voc must have 12th with minimum 45% in aggregate.

Admission 2024 to UG & Integrated Courses

The Central University of Jammu provides B.Voc, Integrated B.Sc (Hons.), and Integrated B.A-B.Ed programs in various specializations. These courses last 3-5 years. To be eligible for admission, aspirants must have 12th with at least 50% in aggregate. Admission will be based on the scores received in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET).

Selection Criteria:

Admission to University's various UG and integrated degrees will be based on CUET scores. Following the completion of the CUET, the University may conduct its own Entrance Test in specific courses, subject to clearance by the University's Competent Bodies.

CUET Exam has 3 sections:

  • Section I is further divided into Sections IA and IB. Candidates have to select one language from a list of 13 in Section IA, and one from a list of 20 in Section IB.
  • Section II is a domain-specific part in which candidates must select up to 6 domains from a list of 27. Candidates should carefully consider the domains they select, as these will be the deciding element in their institution choice.
  • Section III It is a general test in which applicants will be tested on basic general subjects such as general knowledge, current affairs, general mental ability, numerical ability, quantitative reasoning, logical reasoning, and analytical reasoning.

Application Procedure at University

University will conduct CUET scores for its UG admissions. Candidates must first complete the CUET method till the results are declared, after which they must fill out the University application form through counselling rounds.

Step I: Candidates must visit CUET's official website.

Step II: Click the Register button in the top right corner.

Step III: Fill out all the required basic and personal information.

Step IV: Confirm that the information you provided in the application form is correct. If any of the information on the application form is incorrect, edit it.

Step V: Select the University and Program from the drop-down menus.

Step VI: Select the Test Paper / Subject(s) for CUET.

Step VII: Enter the language for the CUET exam.

Step VIII: Select the City option to be assigned the nearest city for the CUET test.

Step IX: Upload all required documents.

Step X: Review the application form.

Step XI: Check all the checkboxes if the information you provided on the application form is correct.

Step XII: Pay the application fee online using a secure payment option.

Step XIII: Download and print the application form for future use.

The university offers PG degrees such as M.Tech, MBA, MA in several disciplines, M.Sc, and M.Ed. Admission is dependent on CUET-PG scores, same like it is for UG courses. Candidates must have applied for the admission test online. A Bachelor's degree in a suitable stream or field is required for admission to PG courses.

Master’s Degree in the concerned subject/allied subject with 55% marks or equivalent grade (50% in case of reserved category candidates).Entrance test

Key points:

  • The final selection would be decided after giving 80% preference to entrance test scores and 20% preference to interviews conducted by the relevant department.
  • No candidate who scores less than 50% (45% for restricted category candidates) in the Entrance exam will be considered for Ph.D. admission.
  • JRF/NET/SLET/SET qualified applicants will be exempted from taking the admission exam.

Application Procedure 2024

For admission to the institution, each candidate must apply and take the CUCET exam. CUCET application forms are only available online on the website. However, the application fees can be paid in both online and offline modes.

Candidates must pay the application fees online using a credit or debit card, while the fee can be paid offline using a bank challan. Candidates from the general and OBC categories must pay INR 800, while reserved category candidates will be charged INR 400.

Post Entrance Test Process:

Candidates can apply for both online and campus admissions based on the CUCET merit list.
Online Admission: Documents must be submitted through e-mail to the appropriate department email address from July 1 to 3, 2020. Only on July 3, 2020, can you make an online fee deposit after receiving confirmation from the relevant department.
Campus Admission: Will be held at the CUJ Campus Temporary Academic Block, Sainik Colony Jammu on July 3, 2020. Candidates must only pay the fee once they have received confirmation from the relevant department.

The Non-Net Fellowship Scheme is open to Ph.D. students who are registered in various university departments and do not get any other financial help.
Eligible candidates will get INR 8000 per month as a fellowship, with a contingency of INR 10,000 for Science students and INR 8000 for Humanities and Social Science students.
