Birsa Agricultural University was established as a state university in 1981 by the late Smt. Indira Gandhi. The university is authorised by UGC. The institution offers various UG, graduate, and doctorate courses. The Jharkhand Combined Competitive Entrance Exam, conducted by JCECEB for UG, graduate, and doctoral programs, and the Combined Competitive Entrance Exam, managed by I.C.A.R. Admission 2024 at University

Students get admission to University's various UG programs in 2 steps. The I.C.A.R. V.C.I. conducts a Combined Competitive Entrance Exam at All India level to fill 15% seats, while the Jharkhand Combined Competitive Entrance Exam Board, Ranchi, fills 85% seats.

A candidate's score on the university's entrance exam determines their admission to PG and doctoral programs. Interviews, GD, and written exams are used to select applicants for the MBA program.-

Scholarships for Students

  • 10%. admission capacity is allocated to PG and UG students in the 3 colleges of agriculture, veterinary science & animal husbandry, and forestry, respectively, for merit and merit-cum-means scholarships of INR 350 and INR 300 per month.
  • Additionally, all SC/ST students receive INR 425 per month as part of the District Welfare Scholarship (E-Kalyan).
  • In PG programs in Agriculture, Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Forestry, and College of Biotechnology, 75% enrolled students receive fellowships worth INR 1500 per month for M. Sc./M.V. Sc. programs and INR 2000 per month for Ph.D. programs.
  • Additionally, the University Grant Commission offers SC/ST students pursuing M.Sc., MV Sc., or Ph.D. programs the Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship.
  • National Talent Scholarships of INR 3,000 and INR 5,000 per month are awarded to UG students from states other than Jharkhand who are accepted through ICAR.
  • Additionally, the Indian government offers national fellowships to students from Scheduled Tribes.
