ISM Dhanbad - Indian Institute of Technology UG, PG Admission 2024: Form Last Date,Fees, Eligibility

Admission to University's Executive M.Tech, MA, and Ph.D. programs for 2024 is currently open. The institute uses national entrance exams for admission to students to its UG, graduate, and doctorate programs. University takes into account JEE Advanced grades and JoSAA counselling for admitting students to their primary program, B.Tech. The institute offers 910 seats overall, encompassing all student categories, with 1st-year fees of INR 2.4 lakhs. University B.Tech program's overall cutoff ranged from 3258 to 16151 ranks.

 At PG level also provides M.Tech, M.Sc, and MBA programs. GATE, IIT JAM, and CAT scores are for admission to these courses. Still, the institute conduct a written exam and a personal interview for the MA admission. Additionally, university provides Ph.D. program with entrance exams and PI rounds as part of the shortlisting process. To be qualified for this course, students must also have valid GATE, CEED, UGC, or CSIR scores.

Admission 2024 to B.Tech and B.Tech + M.Tech Dual Degree Program

For 4 years, university provides a full-time B.Tech program. 11 specialisations are available for the curriculum, including mining engineering, petroleum engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science and engineering. Additionally, University provides 5-year BTech+MTech dual degree program with 3 specialisations: mathematics and computing, applied geophysics, and applied geology.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates should have 12th with a major in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and English from an accredited school board.
• Additionally, candidates must have received at least 75% marks in 12th level or comparable qualifying test.

Selection Criteria:

• Candidates' scores on the JEE Advanced entrance exam, which is followed by the JoSAA Counselling Process, are the sole basis for selection to the B.Tech program.
• The college cutoff and the candidate's preferred courses and colleges determine how many seats are assigned.
• Based on the minimal rank cutoff and seat distribution,university verifies admission to B.Tech/Integrated M.Tech programs.

Admission 2024 to M.Tech Program

For 2 years, Dhanbad provides full-time M.Tech program. There are 24 specialisations available in the curriculum, including mining engineering, petroleum engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science and engineering.

• The eligibility requirements for university M.Tech include bachelor's degree in engineering or master's degree in science with at least 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.0.
• Candidates who are SC/ST must have a CGPA of 5.5 or at least 55% grade.
• Applicants who hold degrees approved by professional associations such as the Indian Institute of Metals, the Institute of Chemical Engineers, the Aeronautical Society of India, the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, or the Institution of Engineers (India) are not permitted to apply for admission to university.

Selection Criteria:

• The Final selection is based on the GATE score Followed by the COAP Counselling process.
• IIT Graduate Candidates with a CGPA of 8.0 or above in their Bachelor’s Degree are selected based on merit and Departmental interview.

Admission 2024 to M.Tech Program

University offers admission in Executive M.Tech for the Working Professionals from government organizations / reputed Industrial Organization / Academic Institutions university Offers Executive M.Tech Program in 2 Specializations Microelectronics and Semiconductor Technology, and Geomatics.

Eligibility Criteria:

• B.Tech in Engineering or M.Sc.
• Working professionals with 2 years of experience.

Eligibility for Microelectronics and Semiconductor Technology

• B.Tech./B.E. or equivalent degree in Electronics Engineering/Electronics & Communication Engineering/Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering/Telecommunication Engineering/ Information Technology/Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering.
• M. Sc. in Physics/ Electronic Science or allied branches.

Eligibility for Geomatics

• B.Tech. in (Mining Engineering/Civil Engineering/Computer Science Engineering/ Information Technology/Environmental Science and Engineering/ Electronics and Communication Engineering/ Agriculture & Farm Engineering/ Geosciences/ Geoinformatics).
• M.Sc. in Geoinformatics/M.Sc. in Remote sensing and GIS.

Selection Criteria:

• After Verifying all Documents submitted by the Candidates if the Minimum eligibility Criteria is fulfilled by the Candidates Then the HOD of the respective department will send the list of the candidates to the Admission Cell for final verification and issuing of the admission letter after approval from the competent authority.
• The concerned department may conduct a Written Test / Interview

Admission 2024 to MBA Program

University offers a general MBA and MBA in Business Analytics for 2 years duration. University MBA admission is based on a CAT score followed by PI. The qualifying university cutoff for MBA for general category candidates is 80 percentile and 60 percentile for SC/ST/PD. 

Eligibility Criteria:

• Graduation degree with 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA (55% For SC/ST).
• Mathematics/Statistics should be in Bachelor's degree.
• Final-year students also apply and have to submit completion proof. 

Selection Criteria:

• Valid CAT score
• Selected candidates have to appear for the online Interview process.
• IIT B.Tech graduates with an 8.0 CGPA out of 10 are exempted from the CAT score requirement. 

Admission 2024 to MA Program

University provides 2-year MA degree in digital humanities and social science; further program details are provided below.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Bachelor's or bachelor's degree in the relevant arts, humanities, or social sciences is required of applicants.
• UG degree in engineering, technology, science, commerce, or management is required of applicants.

Selection Criteria:

• There will be 2 stages to the university M.A. selection procedure.

Based on how well they did on the written exam, candidates will be selected for the interview.

Admission 2024 to M.Sc/ M.Sc Tech Program

Only IIT JAM is used for admission to university for 2-year M.Sc programs or 3-year M.Sc. Tech programs. 3 M.Sc. specialisations and 2 M.Sc. Tech. specialisations are available.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Minimum 55% in Bachelor's degree, or a 5.5 CGPA out of 10, are eligible.
• Candidates who are SC/ST/PD must have minimum 50% marks or a CGPA of 5.0.

Selection Criteria:

The IIT JAM score and JOAPS Counselling are the last factors used to select students for the M.Sc/M.Sc Tech program at university. 

Admission 2024 to Ph.D. (JRF)

Junior Research Fellowships (JRFs) are offered by university in 4 streams and a range of specialisations. University Ph.D. (JRF) candidates are chosen through an interview and an all-India exam. Additionally, university M.Sc. Tech. and M.Sc. students are permitted to apply directly in Ph.D. programs at the institute.

The top 20% M.Sc. Tech. and M.Sc. students in their departments who acquire a CGPA of 8.5 or higher are eligible to apply for direct admission to Ph.D. programs under this scheme. However, each department is only allowed to have maximum10 seats for all of its courses combined.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Master's degree with at least 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5 in a related field.
• A valid GATE, NET, or appropriate national level exam is required for admission to the Ph.D. program at university.
• CAT/GMAT score is required for applicants getting  Ph.D. in management. 

Selection Criteria:

• Candidates must take a written exam if they have valid GATE, NET, or appropriate national level exam results.
• The shortlisted applicants will be contacted for PI in the second round.
