Sido Kanhu Murmu University is a public university located in Dumka, Jharkhand, established in 1992 by an act of the Bihar Legislative Assembly. At the UG, graduate, and doctoral levels, University currently provides B.A. (Hons.), B.Sc. (Hons.), BLIS, M.A., M.Sc., MCA, M.Com, MBA, and Ph.D. courses.

By going to the official website, candidates can submit their applications online. The candidate must have received at least 50% marks (45% for reserved category) in Physics, Mathematics, and one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or Technical or Vocational subjects in the 12th exam. Candidates will be selected based on how well they did on the corresponding entrance exams.

• At UG level, the university provides B.A., B.Sc., B.A. (Hons.), B.Sc. (Hons.), and B.Lis programs.
• Additionally, it provides PG M.A., M.Sc., M.Com., MBA, and MCA programs.
• Candidates for the B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., B.A. (Hons.), and B.Sc. (Hons.) programs must have 12th with at least 50% marks.
• Candidates for PG courses must hold graduation degree in the relevant field.
• Admissions for M.A., M.Sc., and M.Com. programs are determined by the scores obtained on the qualifying exam.
• For MBA and MCA admission, respectively, MAT and AIMCET are cosidered.
• Only online applications are accepted, and they can be obtained through the university's official website.
• Candidates must carefully complete the application and attach to the deadlines.
• On the basis of marks obtained in required PG course, the institution also grants Ph.D.s in social science.
• Although students with valid CGIR-NET, GATE, or UGC-NET scores will be given preference, Ph.D. candidates must pass the written entrance exam.
• Master's degree with a cumulative GPA of 60% is required for Ph.D. candidates. Candidates who are SC or ST are granted 5% relaxation.

Admission 2024 to UG Program

Merit and rank in the university entrance exam will be the only factors used to determine admission.

The performance of prospective applicants in the relevant entrance exams will determine which ones get selected for admission.

Admission 2024 to PG Program

Admission to MBA and MCA programs is determined by the results of university entrance exam or the MAT scores of the AIMCET and AIMA, respectively.

• IIT Roorkee conducts the AIMCET Exam every year to give admission in the MCA Course.
• Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a standardized test being conducted since 1988 to facilitate Business Schools (B-Schools) to screen candidates for admission to MBA and allied programs.
• Admission to MA, M.Sc & M.Com courses are offered on the basis of marks secured by the candidate in the qualifying exam.

Admission 2024 to Ph.D.

University offers 3 Years full time Ph.D program in Social Sciences. Admission to Ph.D program is granted on the basis of marks obtained in the written test followed by interview.

Aspirants will be selected on the basis of their performance in the Ph.D written test conducted by the University followed by Interview. Preference will be given to the CGIR-NET, GATE or UGC-NET qualified candidates.
