Vinoba Bhave University (VBU) was established in the year 1992, located in Hazaribagh,  and is funded by Government of India. The university offers various courses at UG, PG & doctorate level with teaching and research in Physical Science, Life Science, Earth Science, Social Science, Humanities, Commerce, Technology, Medical Science, Law, Education, Homeopathy and Ayurvedic Medicine & Engineering etc.

For admission to courses offered by University (VBU), students have to qualify the national/state level entrance tests to secure admission in various UG & PG programs in different specializations.

• MBA admission is determined on previous academic performance, CAT/MAT/CMAT/XAT/ATMA scores, and then GD and PI scores.
• Candidates should have valid JEE Main and GATE scores for B.Tech and M.Tech, respectively.
• The NEET score is considered for admission to MBBS and BDS programs.
• Admission to the MCA program requires JCECE results.

Fees of Courses

Admission 2024 to UG Program: BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, BCA, B.Ed.

UG courses offered by the university include B.Ed., B.Com., BBA, BCA, and BA and B.Sc. in various specialisations. With the exception of B.Ed. and LLB, which are only open to graduates. With the exception of B.Ed. degrees, where students must take an entrance exam, admission to UG programs is primarily determined by merit lists.

After paying the application fees of INR 500 in cash. Students must submit the completed form to the university address together with the required documents.

Admission 2024 to MBBS, BAMS, BHMS & BDS Program

Admission to MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, and BDS programs at University (VBU) in 2024
At UG level, university provides MBBS and BDS programs with an emphasis on medicine and surgery. For admission to MBBS, candidates must receive at least 60% marks on their 12th test, with English, chemistry, biology, and physics being the primary subjects.

Candidates must pass the CBSE-conducted NEET entrance exam to apply for admission to the MBBS program. The merit list will be announced based on the students' NEET scores.

Note: To be eligible for admission, candidates studying an MBBS degree.

B.Tech Admission 2024: 

The university provides 4-year B.Tech. programs in various specialisations. For 3-year period, university also admits students in 2nd year of lateral entrance with comparable specialisations. Candidates must possess a polytechnic diploma in the relevant field to be eligible for B.Tech Lateral entrance.

Admission 2024 to MD, MS & MDS Program

University provides PG degrees in MD, MS, and MDS. Programs for MD, MS, and MDS last 3 years. For MS/MD and MDS, respectively, a graduate of MBBS/BDS with at least 50% marks may apply. Candidates must take the NEET entrance test, which is conducted by NBE,to apply for admission to either of PG medical programs.

Admission 2024 to PG Program: M.Tech, M.Sc, M.Com, MA, M.Ed & MBA

All PG courses require a bachelor's degree as a prerequisite. Programs such as MA, M.Com, and M.Sc. admission students only on their performance on the qualifying exam. However, admission to M.Tech programs is obtained through GATE or the PG entrance exam conducted by the Jharkhand government.

The university offers an MBA brochure and application form for INR 1000 (INR 750 for SC/ST). Applications for M.Sc. Environmental Science are offered to graduates (10+2+3), MBBS, and B.Tech students who have at least 50% marks. INR 1000 (INR 750 for SC, ST, and DA).

Important Points:

• The MBA (Evening) application form is available for download on University's official website or personal on campus with payment of an application fee of INR 1000.
• After paying INR 1000 (INR 500 for MCA (Int.)), the MCA program application form can be completed online or offline.
• The application form for an M.Sc. (Biotechnology) degree can be downloaded from the official website or picked up on the university campus for INR 650.
• Admission for M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs at University (VBU) in 2024
• Additionally, University provides Ph.D. and M.Phil. programs in many specialisations. Ph.D. programs last 3-4 years, whereas M.Phil. programs last one and a half years.
• Admission to an M.Phil. program is determined on the marks obtained in the university entrance test.

A applicant must have obtained Master's degree in the topic or a related discipline with at least 55% marks to e eligible for the M.Phil/Ph.D. program. Applicants with high CSIR NET or UGC NET scores will be given preference for admission.

Every applicant for Ph.D. must take University-conducted Doctoral Eligibility cum Entrance Test (DEET). Admission will be considered provisional until DEET qualification is obtained, which is an essential criterion for enrolment.

To register for Ph.D. program, the vice chancellor may grant a candidate with at least 5 years of professional experience in teaching, industry, or research 5% relaxation.

Application Procedure 2024

After paying the application fees in cash or demand draft, the application form can be picked up at the University affiliated college. The completed application must be submitted in by the deadline set by the relevant college.

The shortlisted candidate can confirm their seat by paying the required admission fee after the college displays the merit list.

For the Integrated Course for B.A., B.Sc., and B.Ed.

1. Proceed to the counter of the university.
2. Get the application form at the University Department of Education's M.Ed. Office counter at university, Hazaribagh.
3. Additionally, the candidate must pay registration fees in cash or by DD to "The Registrar" at university, Hazaribagh, in the amount of INR 400 for SC/ST candidates and INR 500 for general/OBC candidates to receive the application form.

For MBA

The application forms are available to the candidate in three different ways: online, by hand, and by mail. However, they must only be submitted offline.

• Proceed to the counter at the university.
• Get the application form and the university brochure, and pay the registration fees.
• The registration fees must be paid personal at University, Hazaribagh, in the form of a demand draft for INR 1000 (or INR 750 for candidates in the SC, ST, VH, or PH categories).
• By providing a DD of INR 1100 (INR 850 for candidates in the SC, ST, VH, and PH categories), the candidate can also receive the application form by mail.
• Additionally, the applicant can fill out the application by downloading it from the official website.
• Together with a DD of INR 1000 (INR 750 for SC/ST/VH/PH), the downloadable forms must be sent to "The Director, University Department of Management, University, Hazaribagh, Pin: 825301."
