One of the renowned universities in Davangere, Karnataka, is Davangere University. The University Grant Commission (UGC) has acknowledged it. The Karnataka government established it on August 18, 2009.

Education, science and technology, arts, and commerce and management are 4 departments of University. With one constituent college and 2 autonomous colleges that offer graduate and PG courses, the university is affiliated with 116 colleges. It provides 23 PG courses of studies and Research courses on its main campus.

• For the admissions to all PG courses, both the marks obtained in the entrance test and aggregate marks obtained in the relevant subject(s) at qualifying degree exam will be considered.
• The candidates will be shortlisted for admissions on the basis of the score in the entrance exam. The university admits 50 students (merit and open merit) under each PG course.
• Reservation of seats for special categories is also available as per government orders.

Admission 2024 to PG Program

The institution provides various PG courses with several MA and M.Sc. specialisations. Admissions to M.A. and M.Sc. programs are determined by the candidates' overall scores in relevant graduate subjects as well as their ranking in the university's own All India admission exam.

Admission to this or any other university will be offered to candidates who have passed their 3-4 year degree test with 45% mmarks (or 40% for SC, ST, or Category-1 students). All qualified applicants may submit an offline application. Both on campus and on the university's official website, application forms are available.

• 50% candidate's entrance exam scores and the remaining 50% total scores obtained in the relevant disciplines at the qualifying degree exam are used to select the candidate.
• When it comes to assigning seats to restricted categories, Kannada medium (KM) students (5% total intake) and all students at Karnataka state's women universities would receive special precedence.

Admission 2024 to MBA Program

The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) or Karnataka Exam Authority (KEA) scores are used to determine admission to MBA programs at the state or national level. Applicants for the course must have a bachelor's degree with minimum 45%.

The Common Management Admission Test will be used to fill MBA program seats (CMAT). The Karnataka Examination Authority will conduct an entrance exam to fill the open seats following CMAT counselling.

• Eligibility of MBA is Bachelor’s degree.
• Selection Criteria of MBA is CMAT/ KEA entrance exam.

Students learning Kannada (KM) will have special preference when it comes to reservations.

Admission 2024 to M.Phil.& Ph.D. Program

Admission to the course is determined by an offline entrance exam conducted by the university, with questions based on the PG subjects for each course as specified in the eligibility criteria. The course lasts at least 1 year for M.Phil. students and at least 2 years for Ph.D. students. The university offers research courses in 6 different disciplines, and candidates with Master's degree with 50% aggregate marks are eligible to apply. Application forms are available on campus and can also be downloaded from the university's official website.

• Candidates, who have NET/UGC-CSIR or are JRF and Project fellows, need not appear for the entrance exam.
• Merit list of candidates will be based upon their score in the qualifying exam and their academic performance during the qualifying degree.

Application Process 2024

The application forms for the college will be filled through offline mode. The forms can be obtained from the university office or can be downloaded from the official website of the university.

Duly filled-in applications have to be submitted to the respective departments personal or through post/ courier. The candidates can pay the fees through Demand Draft or Bank Challan.

The DD has to be issued in favor of “Finance Officer, Shivagangotri payable at Davangere”.

Bank Challan has to be paid at “State bank of Mysore, A/C No. 64050447113 and IFSC Code SBMY0040869”.

Note: Students seeking admission under any reserved category have to submit the copy of the required documents along with the application form.

Reservation Criteria 2023

For general merit, 50% intake shall be earmarked for the students irrespective of the category to which they belong to and rest 50% is for the reserved categories.
