Kannada University, often called Hampi University, was established in 1991 in Hampi, Karnataka. The University provides UG, PG, PG diploma, integrated, and doctoral programs in various subjects. These include the MA, Ph.D., Integrated courses (Kannada Literature and Folklore), Diploma in Sculpture, Diploma in Music (Sangeetha), BA (Sangeetha), and Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA). Admissions at University
Admissions to the UG courses are based on merit in the qualifying exam. Admissions to the Ph.D courses and the Integrated courses are on the basis of an entrance exam conducted by the university. Candidates will be selected on the basis of rank in the entrance test.
A merit list will be published in both cases. Selected candidates will be called for a personal interview. After that, admission will be given to the candidates.

Facilities at University
Hostels: Students can stay in the university's hostel. The hostel rooms are big and well-equipped with everything students need. There are separate hostels for boys and girls on either side of the institution. The girls' hostel can only accommodate 200 students, whilst the boys' hostel can house 500.
Gym Center: The university also offers gym facilities. There are 2 different gymkhana rooms for boys and girls.
Banking and Postal Services: The university campus offers an ATM and post office facilities. Students find it helpful to have constant access to these facilities.
Sports: The university has facilities for cricket, volleyball, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, carrom, and chess. Students also have the ability to represent the university in various intercollegiate and higher-level athletic tournaments.
Library: The university library is quite large and contains many books and references for students' use. The collection contains 2,17,320 books, 1,433 rare books, 169 electronic books, 2,371 bound volumes, 6 Kannada periodicals, and 22 English journals.
