Karnataka Veterinary, Animal, and Fisheries Sciences University in Bidar, Karnataka, is a state university established in 2004 with the express objective of developing teaching and research in the fields of veterinary, animal, and fisheries sciences. It was established by the Government of Karnataka under the Karnataka Act 9 of 2004 and is sanctioned by UGC. It is one of the pioneer institutes that conduct research in this field of science and offers various courses at the UG, PG, Diploma, and doctoral levels.
The college has approximately 10 research centers to keep up with research activity. It also includes 8 component colleges. The college provides all required facilities for its students.

Admissions 2024
Admission to UG courses is based on the marks obtained in the KEA's Common Entrance Test, whereas admission to PG courses is based on the candidate's performance before qualifying exams as well as the written entrance test. The institution also provides the coveted MBA course in the field of food business, which requires passing a written test, followed by a general discussion and an interview. For Ph.D. admissions, the university conducts a separate entrance exam, followed by oral interview.

The Placement Cell at University offers various options to students and ensures that as many as possible are placed with excellent packages. Scholarships for Students
University provides a University Resident Merit Scholarship for each of the disciplines offered in the Masters program. In each academic year, the amount is INR 800 per month, and for Doctoral Degree Programmes, it is INR 1,200 per month, and it is exclusively available to students who have graduated from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru, Dharwad, and KVAFSU, Bidar. Students from SC/ST and other categories can also apply for several scholarships offered by the Government of India and the Government of Karnataka.
