Admission to medicine-related courses is dependent on entrance exam. Admission to Allied Health Sciences courses is merit-based, with the exception of Ph.D. programs, which are both entrance-based. Details of admission to SDUU are described below:
- MBBS admissions are based on both NEET UG and 12th PCB scores.
- For admission to M.D. and M.S. programs based on NEET PG scores as well as their MBBS scores and a year of internship experience.
- Ph.D. admissions are dependent on SDUU's entrance exams. Only those who have not received UGC-NET, JRF, or SET scores.
- Admission to programs such as B.Sc, BPT, BASPL, M.Sc, and MPH is based on merit, which is determined by the scores received in the preceding qualifying test.

Eligibility Criteria:
On a regular basis, obtain Master of Science in comparable area from the Faculty of Medicine at recognized university with 55% aggregate.
Selection Criteria:
- Selection of students for the Ph.D. program is done on the basis of the entrance exam which is conducted by the college itself.
- The syllabus of the Entrance Test shall consist of 50% Research methodology and 50% shall be subject specific.
- The related syllabus shall be notified in advance in the website.
- The marks at the qualifying exam shall be 50%.
- Maximum weightage (70%) shall be given to the written test and 30% to the interview.
- Students with valid scores in UGC-NET or JRF or SET are exempted from appearing for the internal entrance exam.
