Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education, Gwalior
The Ministry of Education and Culture, Government of India established the Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE) in commemoration of Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi in August 1957. It is a deemed university managed by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. With its extensive academic offerings in UG, PG, PGDM, and Ph.D. levels, the institute fosters excellence in sports and physical education.
Admission to LNIPE is only dependent on the performance in the Entrance Test. The Entrance Test comprises of a written test, followed by a physical test, and finally a medical examination. Applications for admission must be submitted online. Seats are reserved for SC, ST, and OBC candidates. Candidates who have represented India in any international competition will be awarded direct admission if the representation is in AIU-approved games/sports.

Admissions at University
Admission to the university is based on the applicant's performance in the institute's admission test. Admissions applications are submitted online. The selection criteria for admission to all courses are the same. The entrance test is divided into 2 parts: a written test and a physical fitness test, followed by a medical exam. The applicant's admission is based on the cumulative merit gained from all of these tests.

Foreign Students
A foreign student wishing of registering in university must complete an Online Application form, as specified in the prospectus. All letters referring to overseas students should be submit to the college's Registrar. Foreign students will be admitted on a supernumerary basis, that is, in addition to the sanctioned intake.
Scholarship for Students
The college is a government-funded institute with the option of giving scholarships to individuals with exceptional abilities. The top ten meritorious students in each semester and course receive a scholarship in which their complete semester's fees are returned. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must excel in both the theoretical and practical exams.
Placement to University
The placement cell at university is very active. Every year, several institutions and corporations visit university to recruit students, primarily for the positions of sports coach, instructor, or teacher. Other sectors in which students are placed include sports management, journalism, marketing, pedagogy, physiotherapy, and sports medicine. The college also assists its final-year students in obtaining internships that would offer them with practical knowledge and experience in their respective fields.
Facilities at University
Sports Facilities: The institute has a Health Centre, an Indoor Swimming Pool, and an open Olympic-sized Swimming Pool, to name a few.
Hostel: There are 7 boys hostels and 4 girls hostels. There is a separate mess for guys and girls.
UGC - Human Resource Development Centre: The Human Resource Development Centre houses all of the facilities, including lodging, boarding, classrooms, offices, libraries, conference rooms, and dining halls, under one roof.
Central Library: A modern library with all modern facilities is provided on campus for staff, student researchers, and other visitors.
