Utkal University, located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, was established in 1943. The university was laid by Dr. Rajendra Prasad (first president of India) and opened by Dr. S Radhakrishnan (second president of India). Utkal institution is the 17th-oldest institution in India. It is India's largest affiliating university, having over 576 affiliated colleges from various branches. Currently, the university offers UG, PG, Ph.D., and M.Phil. courses to students, with approximately 7 PG departments.

Facilities at University:
Library: The Utkal University Library, also known as the Purija Library, is regarded as one of the greatest libraries in Odisha. The library has a big reading area, manuscripts, administrative, and various other areas. It holds almost 2000 books and 5200 manuscripts.
Hostel: The university has hostel facilities for both boys and girls. The hostel also has a mess area where students may acquire sanitary food.
Canteen: The institution also features a large canteen, which is believed to be the busiest and most social location for students. The canteen provides food at a very low price that is prepared with good hygiene.
