Jaypee University of Information and Technology, Solan was established in 2002. It provides 7 specialisations under the B.Tech program, 4 under the M.Tech program, and 8 under the Ph.D. program. B.Tech is full-time 4-year UG program with 510 places. M.Tech is 2-year full-time study with maximum intake18 seats per specialisation. University provides Ph.D. programs both full-time and part-time. Candidates can also select to go after Ph.D.

The application procedure is completed online. Candidates must pay an application fee of INR 1200 (UG) or INR 1000 (PG/PhD). The minimum eligibility requirement for the B.Tech program is 12th with 60% aggregate. Admission to the M.Tech program requires 60% aggregate grades or 6.0 CGPA.

Admission to university Ph.D. Program is based on merit. Candidates who have NET/SLET/UGC/CSIR (JRF) exam are exempt from the University's Ph.D. Entrance Test. Non-NET/SLET qualified individuals must take the entrance test, and selection offers will be given based on merit.

Admission to the M.Sc Programme is based on the merit of UG program. Admission to the program requires at least 50% aggregate marks in UG (45% for SC/ST). Admission to the BSc (Hons.) in Mathematics & Computing is based on the quality of 12th exam, with Mathematics as a required subject and 60% aggregate marks (55% for SC/ST).

Candidates will be selected on the basis of both merit and entrance exams. Candidates for the B.Tech program must pass the JEE Main exam. For M.Tech, university offers GATE or PGET. 10% seats are allocated for applicants from the state of Himachal Pradesh who obtained their degrees there.

Admission 2024 to B.Tech Program

University provides B.Tech in 7 specialisations. Candidates must have 12th, with Physics and Mathematics as required courses. Candidates for the B.Tech Biotechnology & Bioinformatics program must take Biology/Biotechnology, Physics, and Mathematics as required.

Admission to the B.Tech study at university is dependent on performance in the entrance exams or the qualifying test. Entrance-based admission to B.Tech is based on students' All India Rank in JEE Main.

Merit-based admission is based on the candidates' success in their qualifying exams. The institution will have merit-based admissions counselling session in July. Candidates will be informed in advance and will be able to select to 3 programs.

University provides B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computing. To be eligible for admission, candidates must have 12th program from a recognised board.

The CUET/Merit-Based entrance test determines admission to the B.Sc program.

Admission 2024 to M.Tech Program

University provides M.Tech in 7 specialisations. The basic eligibility requirement is B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc in the appropriate discipline with cumulative CGPA 60% or equivalent.

For admission to the M.Tech program must either take the GATE exam or pass the univrsity PG Entrance Test (PGET). GATE qualified individuals can apply immediately for admission, however non-GATE candidates must pass the university's PGET exam.

Admission 2024 to Ph.D. Program

University provides Ph.D. programs in 8 different specialisations. To be eligible for admission, candidates must have Master's degree in the relevant discipline.

Offline applications can be downloaded from the internet or obtained directly from the institution by submitting a Demand Draft for INR 1200 (UG programs) or INR 1000 (PG/Ph.D. programs). University adopts Himachal Pradesh's reservation policy. In addition to that

• There is 10% reservation for applicants from the state of Himachal Pradesh who have finished their qualifying exams there.
