Karnataka State Open University is one of the country's leading distant learning institutions, having been established in 1996. Admission 2024 to BA, B.Com, B.Ed., B.Sc. (IT) and B.Lib.I.Sc Program

UG programs at the university include BA, B.Com, and B.Ed with two concentrations, as well as B.Sc. in IT and B.Lib.I.Sc. The minimal educational qualification or eligibility criteria for the program is passing 12th or HSC or equivalent exam in the relevant stream from a recognized board.

In addition, the college provides Lateral entry admission for UG programs in 2nd and 3rd trimester. The fundamental eligibility criteria for lateral entry admission are qualifying 12th in any stream in addition to a 6 month/1-year study in IT, or 12th with a 3 year diploma in IT from a recognized university.

Admissions 2024 to MA, M.Sc., M.Com. and MBA  Program

University provides PG courses that have been authorized by the University Grants Commission. The university provides PG programs in M.Com, MA, and M.Sc. with 11 specializations each. The college also provides master's-level MBA program. The eligibility requirement for admission to the PG programs is based on the results of the 3-year bachelor degree or equivalent exam.

Admission 2024 to M.Lib.I.Sc. and L.L.M Program

All students can pursue M.Lib.I.Sc. and L.L.M. degrees through online learning at the university. Admission to the M.Lib.I.Sc. program requires a qualifying B.Lib.I.Sc. from a recognized university with minimum 50% or higher. For admission to L.L.M., candidate must have graduation or equivalent to law from any recognized university, college, or institution.

The college also provides Lateral entry to M.Sc. programs in 2nd and 3rd semesters. The basic eligibility for direct admission to 2nd semester is a graduation degree with 4 semesters of GNIIT, whereas the minimum eligibility for 3rd semester is graduation and PGDCA/PGDIT from a university or equivalent, or DOEACC "A" Level Certificate, B.E.(C.Sc./IT), GNIIT, or PGDCA from CAL-C.

Note: If an applicant earns less than 50% in their Bachelor's Degree, they must have at least 3 years of supervisory/managerial/professional experience.

Admissions 2024 to Ph.D. Program

University also provides Ph.D. in 10 specializations at the Doctorate level. The program's basic eligibility requirement is an M.Phil. or Master's degree in the relevant discipline with minimum 55% or higher.

• Candidates must have obtained a Bachelor's degree in the relevant field with the required minimum marks.
• SC/ST candidates are exempt from the minimum eligibility requirement for most courses by 5%.
