In 2014, the state university Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU) was founded in Nagpur. The Bar Council of India (BCI) and the University Grants Commission (UGC) have approved the university. Admission to MNLU Nagpur in 2025
Admission to MNLU Nagpur's undergraduate programs in BA LLB (Hons) and BBA LLB (Hons) is contingent upon merit in the CLAT UG. Candidates for LLM admission are chosen for admission based on their performance in the CLAT PG, and then the Consortium of National Law Universities conducts counseling. Admission to MNLU Nagpur's BA LLB (Hons) in Adjudication and Justicing program is determined by a student's performance in the CLAT UG, which is then evaluated through a group discussion, psychometric test, and personal interview with the institution. 

Based on merit in the university's All India Entrance Test of Postgraduates Degree for Executives and Professionals (AIET-PGEP), admission to the LLM (for Executive) and LLM (2 Year) programs is also available.
