In general, the institution provides two types of scholarships, with eligible students receiving a 100% or 50% fee waiver. - Loyola award: This award is available for undergraduate and graduate courses, with the exception of MBA students beginning in the second semester. It waives 100% of tuition fees for students having a monthly household income of up to INR 3,60,000. A minimum of 60% on the preceding qualifying examination is required, as is 75% attendance throughout the first semester of the course.
- Britto award: This award is accessible for UG and PG degrees, with the exception of the MBA from the second semester onward. This scholarship provides a 50% tuition fee discount to students having a monthly household income of no more than INR 4,20,000. A minimum 60% score is required in the prior qualifying test and the first semester of the course enrolled, coupled with 75%.
- Snegam Scholarship and Deo Maheshwari Scholarship: These scholarships are accessible to MSW female students. These scholarships provide a 100% tuition price waiver to applicants with a monthly household income of up to INR 3,60,000.
- Rupa Scholarship: Starting in the first semester, MA Psychology, MSW, B.Com, and M.Com students can receive a 100% scholarship. - Nihil Ultra Scholarship: This scholarship is open to all undergraduate students beginning with the first semester. To apply for this scholarship, you must have a minimum of 95% on the prior qualifying examination, 75% in the last semester of the degree you are enrolled in, and 75% attendance.
Facilities at St. Xaviers University
St. Xavier's University Kolkata provides all of the necessary amenities for students. All classrooms, computer laboratories, and halls are fully air-conditioned and outfitted with cutting-edge communication technology, including PowerPoint projectors and Internet connections. A brief overview is as follows:
- Computer Lab: XBS provides its students with a well-equipped lab, complete with updated systems and data analytics tools such as SPSS, R Studio, and Tableau, to assist them with their research-related work during the course. The efforts have resulted in various e-initiatives being implemented on the Wi-Fi-enabled campus.
- The MBA Library is well-equipped with modern facilities and resources (both print and electronic) such as online databases, microdocuments, books, journals, reports, and so on. It has also created a full-fledged Digital Library with remote access for students. The library already has more than 7,000 titles/books, and new books and journals are uploaded on a regular basis. It includes access to electronic journals and books, and students are encouraged to use these resources. The library offers a designated reading room that students can use even on weekends.
- The Conference Room is well-equipped with audio and video conferencing capabilities. - Auditorium: Fr. Albert Huart Hall is a mammoth structure of pride for Xavier Business School, St. Xavier's University in Kolkata. The auditorium, which seats 500 people, serves as a gathering place for students and professors to organize seminars, conferences, cultural events, faculty development programs, workshops, and so on. Throughout the year, this theater hosts a range of events and competitions, providing a diverse exposure.
- Hostel: Because the MBA Programme is residential, there are distinct hostel buildings for men and women on campus, known as the "Tagore Residence for Boys" and the "Mother Teresa Residence for Girls". The hostels are intended to create a comfortable, safe, inclusive, and secure environment. Hostel life provides an opportunity to develop long-lasting friendships. Residential staff are always available to assist students from various backgrounds in promoting Community Living on campus. The hostels can house around 600 students, 300 girls and 300 boys. The hostel mess serves three meals each day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and offers both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.
- Indoor and outdoor games: The school boasts a large football field and a high-intensity illuminated basketball court, which host various intra and inter-college events throughout the year. Aside from outdoor activities, students can relax with indoor games such as carom, chess, and table tennis after a long day of classes. Every January, the University grounds host the University's Annual Sports Day.
- Gymnasium: The gymnasium is outfitted with latest equipment to keep pupils fit and healthy. Exercise lowers the risk of any illness, relieves tension and weariness, increases focus, and fosters new friendships in the common area. A full-time trainer is also available to help with personal needs.
- The Student's Cafe offers more than just a place to eat. It's a location full with memories that every student cherishes long after they graduate. The café serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. In addition, there is a student mess committee that monitors the quality of food and seeks to accommodate proposals from other students for changes to the menu.
