By virtue of the gazette notification released on April 30, 2018, the Legislature of the State of Andhra Pradesh established Krea University in accordance with The Andhra Pradesh Private Universities (Establishment and Regulation) (Amendment) Act, 2018. The university is a state-private institution with UGC approval. The university is placed 74th in the Management Category of the NIRF Ranking 2023. The University is sponsored by the IFMR Society. For the past 48 years, the Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR) has accumulated extensive and profound experience in both education and research.

At the undergraduate level, Krea University provides the BA, B.Sc., MBA, and Ph.D. at the graduate level. The university also provides certification courses in addition to these. The 5-year Integrated BBA + MBA, 2-year MBA, Ph.D., and customized Management Development programs—including Executive Education programs—are available at Krea University's IFMR Graduate School of Business (GSB).

Krea university Admission Selection criteria

Undergraduate Admission: Pupils who have completed the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American College Testing (ACT) are eligible to apply, and they must include their score on the application. Application screening and immersion day are the two phases of the selection process. Students may also be required to participate in field trips, logical and mathematical reasoning tests, reflection essays, group discussions, and interviews.

Admission to MBA programs: Applicants have taken entrance exams such as the CAT, CMAT, XAT, GMAT, and GRE. Applicants may be those with less than or equal to 36 months of work experience. The selection process will be based on grades from the admission exam, UG program, and 10th and 12th grades. The chosen students have to demonstrate consent to WAT and PI.

Admission to Ph.D. programs depends entirely on merit. Selected candidates will be contacted for RAT and PI at the Sri City campus following the application screening.

Krea university Scholarships

Under the Krea SIAS program, Krea University gives academic scholarships to students based on merit. Annually, merit-based academic scholarships ranging from a full 100% tuition waiver to a 20% tuition waiver are given out for the Krea SIAS program. The merit scholarship does not require a separate application. After each round of admission, those who made the short list for the scholarship will receive notification, but the official offer won't be made until after Round 4.
