The first unitary university in North Bengal, Raiganj University offers undergraduate and graduate programs on its own campus.The campus, which was founded in 2015, spans more than 13.62 acres and houses 22 undergraduate departments, 23 postgraduate departments, and 17 departments that provide Ph.D. and M.Phil. programs. The university was founded in accordance with West Bengal Act XXVI of 2014 and is situated in Raiganj, West Bengal, the district headquarters of Uttar Dinajpur. Admission is granted based on merit, entrance examination results, individual interviews, and counseling.

How Do one can Apply?

The Raiganj University application form can be completed online on the College's official website. The application fee may be paid online with a credit card, debit card, or net banking account.

• Select the Apply tab by clicking on it.

• Provide all the necessary information, including your academic background, on the application form.

• Scan and upload your signature and photo with the supporting paperwork.

• After paying the application fees, submit the completed form.

Placement at Raiganj University

A Business Incubation and Innovation Centre (BIIC) has been established by the university to assist students in moving closer to the corporate sector. The institution provides seminars, workshops, and training programs for students to improve their abilities and gain knowledge of business culture. Additionally, the center encourages students to become job makers rather than job seekers. In addition, the university acts as a mentor for students who wish to continue their education.39 students were chosen for further education, and the graduates placed in the academic year 2018–19 had a median salary of INR 540000.

Facilities at Raiganj University:

The campus, which covers 25.14 acres, include departments, administrative buildings, guest houses, ponds, canteens, playgrounds, rare medicinal plant gardens, and mulberry gardens.

Hostel: There are two hostels at the university. There are 66 seats in the hostel for boys and 68 in the hostel for women. There is a single guest house at the university. In addition, there are several facilities, such as two common rooms for boys and a common room for girls.

The library is home to more than 62855 books, 50 journals, and over 3000 international publications. It also has subscriptions to seven major daily newspapers.The Central Library can accommodate up to 88 pupils at a time and has 100 mbps ILL from BSNL.

Canteen: One of the gathering places for students is the canteen, where they may be found socializing and savoring cuisine at all hours of the day. Students can get nutritious meals and snacks at the canteen.

Computer Lab: With 205 machines overall and a 20 Mbps Internet bandwidth, the university has a computer lab.

Classrooms: The institution offers bright, airy spaces with cozy seats so that students can concentrate and learn. There are 23 smart classrooms at the university.

The university features the following centers: the Center for Women's Studies, the Center for Buddhist Studies, the Center for Film and Media Studies, the Center for Nanotechnology Sciences, the Center for Women's Studies, the Center for Folklore Studies, the Center for Environment Conservation, the Center for Business Incubation and Innovation, and the Center for Differently Abled Students.

Sports and Games: The institution regularly hosts both outdoor and indoor sporting events. Chess, football, volleyball, basketball, cricket, tennis, table tennis, badminton, ball badminton, athletics, weightlifting, powerlifting, yoga, and so on are a few of the games that are scheduled.Students are encouraged to participate in national and international gaming competitions by the university.

Faculty of Raiganj University

About 110 faculty members with specialized knowledge in their respective fields work at the university.To further their professional development, faculty members regularly attend orientation and refresher courses, as well as conferences, workshops, and seminars. Of the ninety-nine permanent members, fifty-eight hold Ph.D.s, and eleven hold M.Phil.s. There are about 85 permanent teachers, 15 contractual/ad hoc teachers, and 3 visiting professors. For the students' growth, the institution occasionally hires part-time instructors and guest teachers.
